Well we had a Saturday evening March 15th 4:30pm reservation time at Gerard’s1907 Tavern in downtown Bowling Green, Ky. The restaurant opens its doors at 4pm, and is located on College Street just up from Fountain Square Park. We arrived there on time & was seated promptly.at our table for two. The restaurant was already getting full, and business is quite good. Our waitress was cheerful, pleasant, and very good at being a waitress. She did an outstanding job serving our table throughout the night, and came by to assist us quite regularly. She begin by initially described to us in great detail all the multiple Chef’s entries, and various specials not listed on the menu for the evening. They all sounded quite wonderfully appetizing & delicious in full detail. So we actually ended up making our dinner selections from the actual menu itself instead. My wife and I first decided to split a house salad from the menu with blue cheese dressing, and it was pretty good. Now for our entrees she ordered the Seared Salmon Dinner with Brussels Sprouts with all the trimmings, and a Coke Zero or Diet Coke. She said the dish was prepared very appealing to the eye, and most delicious to the taste. Well next I ordered the Tenderloin Sandwich fully dressed with potato french fries, and a sweet tea with lemon. The sweet tea wasn’t very sweet at all. I asked the waitress for some sugar too sweeten it. She said she would bring some liquid sugar in a small dipping container to our table. The liquid sugar did the trick. My sweet tea was now bearable to drink. Now my tenderloin sandwich itself was a large thin patty of meat much larger than the bun. It was cooked crispy on the outside, and very tender on the inside. The sandwich was quite good, and I enjoyed it very much. The fries appeared to be freshly cut, and was served hot and very tasty. Basically we feel our meal was served hot, was pleasantly prepared, and tasted very good overall. We definitely recommend this restaurant for your dining pleasure. We have included some photos of our meal, and a shot of their dinner menu. Our 2nd time at Gerard 1907 Restaurant was also very good. Their sweet tea was not very sweet, but our waitress brought us liquid sugar and we sweetened to taste. Now our entrees we’re delicious my wife had the grilled Asian tuna and I had the steak with mushroom gravy and fries. It was...

I tried this place twice before I wrote a review. I really wanted to like the place, but I feel like the help on the floor hurt my opinion. The first time I brought a friend from another state. We went on a Friday just a little after 5:00, and we did not have reservations. There were lots of tables empty, but the hostess told us they were reserved and we’d have to sit at the bar. We had a whole meal at the bar, and the food was good, but we were crowded. We ordered a bottle of wine with our meal, and we had to pour it ourselves…at the bar! We took our time, but there were still several empty tables that had never been seated during the whole time we were there.

The next time, I went with a family group of seven. We had pretty good food but slow service. The server was friendly but a little too familiar. She asked if I “loved” my stir fry. That’s a bad way to ask if one liked his meal. I told her that it was okay. Then she started questioning why it wasn’t good. She seemed offended. Later, a man came to the table and asked about it. I didn’t complain about it to start with, but I didn’t “love” it. It was just okay.

Anyway, I think the service aspect of the restaurant will...

Dined here with friends late this afternoon and very much enjoyed it! Morgan M. was our server - she was welcoming, pleasant, and just plain wonderful. She genuinely appeared to appreciate our patronage.

Morgan recommended the Fig and Brie burger. Although we usually don't order the same thing, my wife and I both ordered it, and it turned out to be a great choice. One of the best burgers I've ever had. One of our friends ordered a salmon special, and his wife had fish and chips. They both cleaned their plates! Cocktails were very good, I'm not exactly sure what everybody else ordered, but their glasses were emptied. I had a Newcastle Ale, which was served quickly and cold. Perfect. The restaurant is also tastefully decorated and clean.

Again, Morgan was very attentive, giving us just the right amount of attention. Very pleasant young lady. All employees we dealt with were friendly. I also felt this restaurant offered good value and fantastic food and drink. Looking forward to returning!

Edit: I wanted to compliment Morgan one more time for her wonderful performance, and say that ALL food that I saw being served looked amazing.

Highly...

We have driven I-65 through Bowling Green many many times but have never ventured down to the actual city center of Bowling Green. This was a charming little restaurant right off the central square that was completely full of happy looking patrons. Everything on the menu sounded delicious and I opted for a daily special of Jambalaya with shrimp and mussels (which I knew could be taking a risk if the restaurant isn't good at sourcing fresh seafood in a landlocked state and or the chef is not skilled at cooking shellfish). I'm happy to report not only was the seafood fresh and delicious, it was expertly cooked in that all the mussels were plump and juicy with no fishy smell or taste and all the shells were scrubbed well, and the shrimp were cooked just through perfectly so that they were equally juicy and tender. My wife wanted something light and got the GT Salad with grilled chicken to ensure she had room to enjoy dessert at our next stop, Chaney's Dairy. The appetizer of fried pickles and jalapenos was clearly fresh-made to order and was very tasty.
