Racist Restaurant: A Warning Disheartening Experience at Indian Oven
My recent visit to Indian Oven left me deeply disappointed and disturbed. Not only did I encounter blatant racism towards Indian people, but the service itself was shockingly abysmal.
Upon entering the restaurant during its advertised opening hours, I was met with hostility and discrimination from the staff. It was evident that they held prejudiced views towards Indian customers, as they refused to take my order and blatantly ignored my presence.
The lack of professionalism and basic courtesy displayed by the restaurant staff was appalling. It is disheartening to witness such open discrimination in a supposedly inclusive and diverse society.
As a customer, I believe in supporting establishments that value diversity and treat every individual with respect and dignity. Regrettably, Indian Oven failed to meet even the most basic standards of decency and customer service.
I strongly advise anyone, especially those from the Indian community, to steer clear of this establishment. Discrimination should have no place in our society, and businesses that perpetuate such behavior do not deserve our patronage.
I hope that this review serves as a wake-up call for Indian Oven to reflect on their discriminatory practices and take immediate steps...
Read moreWomen disrespecting women in the name of NASTY PATRIARCHY! That is why we still have patriarchy...because women are upholding it. I have never been so disappointed in my life.
10-17-2025 Update Food is still spectacular!
Service- OMG! MEN ARE STILL SERVED FIRST. AND IT IS A WOMAN SERVER. WTH?
My son was exposed to nasty patriarchy. He saw his father receive his plate first. I will never ever visit this establishment again as I don't want to raise a son who thinks it's okay for men to receive their plate first.
I am so very disappointed in the female server. How dare you! Protecting nasty patriarchy and misogyny in this day and age. This is 2025!
Food- a thousand stars.
Service- zero stars. Men get served first. 😡 NOT OKAY! Leave toxic patriarchy where it belongs, in 1st century. Both, female and male, servers do this every time I have been there.
Also, women are ignored, as if we weren't there. We can speak and order what we want. We are capable of making our own decisions. The men with us do not own us, nor do they have to speak for us.
So, back to the fabulous food..... beyond delicious. Having had Indian food on three continents this restaurant fits in Top Three for me. I still haven't picked which one is...
Read moreWhat a nice little find in Bowling Green. If you love Indian cuisine and are in the area definitely give it a shot. For vegetarians, there was a huge list of entrees to choose from. I went with my standard favorite, the Saag Paneer, and was not disappointed. For those that like some heat, they had options: mild, medium, hot, and Indian hot. I opted for the latter. For me it wasn't too spicy but felt like it had just the right amount of kick to it. The Samosas were good as well. As was the Mango Lassi. The garlic Naan was decent as well. Staff was friendly, and the food came out quickly too. Prices were pretty reasonable for the quality.
The exterior isn't inspiring, just in a plaza, but once you are inside it is very welcoming but not astounding. They had some Bollywood movie on but without the sound, too bad.
I heard from my brother that the lunch buffet is great too. I generally love Indian buffets, and if you have never had this type of food before that might be the best place to start because you can try a large assortment of the staples. Then you can branch out to the more elaborate dishes...
