I spent 5 days here during the Pembroke Welsh Corgi Club of America National Specialty. The hotel and Convention Center were AMAZING. I have to say this was the most enjoyable hotel I have ever stayed in.
The staff was friendly and attended every inquiry with a smile and "can do" Attitude. The rooms are HUGE with just enough furniture to be comfortable and plenty of room for dog crates. This is the first place I have EVER stayed that provided enough bath towels, hand towels and wash clothes. The $75 nonrefundable dog fee seemed a little high, but considering this was their first dog show, understandable. Having a full bar and restaurant on site was GREAT!! I never left the whole time I was there except to attend the trip to the Corvette Museum coordinated by our group. The Holiday Inn even provided a van for those without transportation. Talk about accommodating!
They offered a great breakfast and Lunch Buffet with a nice variety of selections to choose from for Dinner at a reasonable price. The Sundries Closet was well stocked and convenient even if a bit pricey.
The elevator lobbies of every floor had spray cleaner and paper towels available for us to use for the occasional accident. They had a doggy station by the side entrance for convenience as well
I understand this was their first dog show. However it did not show. They even purchased Booster Baths and water heaters for the exhibitors convenience. Bravo on job well done.
Suggestion #1: The doggie station at the side is great However low light and all the leaves made clean up impossible. Recommend moving to the grassy area on the other side of the parking lot or add additional lighting so we can see to clean up after our dogs. (We don't mind doing it).
Suggest #2: Change carpet to Vinyl Plank. It is easier to clean up accidents and prevent lingering dog smells when they do happen. This will prevent future accidents as well. Housekeeping will love you.
Suggestion #3: Whenever coffee stations are set up, please provide hot water and Tea as well. Not everyone is a coffee drinker. We had many International visitors that brought their own Tea but did not have hot water available to prepare it. Also lids for coffee cups are needed. Committee Chairs positions tend to rotate, so having this as a pre-established option when coffee is requested will be appreciated.
Suggestion #4: A bell for the elevators in the lobby on each floor would be very helpful. Due to the spacing and the quick opening and closing of the doors, elevators are easily missed.
Suggestion #5: Adding a few Veteran Parking spots would really be appreciated by those of us that...

Read moreReview: Disappointing Experience During LS Fest Weekend
I understand that LS Fest was in town, which likely made things busier than usual, but the check-in process was extremely hectic, even though we arrived later in the evening. Considering the hotel knew there would be more people, I expected the front desk to be better staffed.
As a Holiday Inn member, I was disappointed to learn that because I booked through a third party, I couldn’t add my rewards information to my reservation. I didn’t want to hold up the line further, so I just moved along.
Before arriving, I contacted the hotel to ensure a rollaway bed would be in our room, but it wasn’t there when we checked in. I had to request it again, and while it was eventually placed outside our door by the time we returned from dinner, it was an inconvenience.
The shower left a lot to be desired, with rust stains and poor water pressure. Hot water was only available if you showered early in the morning, which was frustrating.
My reservation included breakfast, but I didn’t receive vouchers at check-in, so I had to go back to the front desk to get them the next morning. Our friends, who booked using the same reservation link, didn’t get theirs with their reservation. The front desk staff didn’t seem particularly concerned about either oversight. Additionally, I requested extra towels for our room, but when I returned that night, there were no towels left, and the thermostat had been turned off.
The breakfast buffet was disappointing, as the food was cold. However, the chef making omelets was fantastic, and the omelets were delicious.
Parking was also an issue, as more than half the parking lot was roped off, making it difficult to find a spot. However, the hotel did reverse the parking fee when I inquired about it, which was appreciated.
Overall, this wasn’t the best experience, and I was disappointed, as this is where I typically stay when in Bowling Green during LS Fest. When charging more for rooms, because of LS Fest, I expect better amenities...
