Brakeman's Cafe — Restaurant in Boyertown

I've been here several times and always enjoyed it, very charming and cute and the food was always good in the past. Today I had the special everything bagel with salmon and cream cheese. The bagel was really subpar. It reminds me of a bagel that would have been bought in a bag from pepperidge farms. It was just horrible, I was really disappointed because in the past the bagels were good, like a real NY style bagel. Even the local supermarkets bagels from their bakery section tasted significantly better than Brake man's bagel today. The service was very good, the salmon was good, and I had a nitro cold brew that was excellent. But I came here starving after a 6-mile walk and was extremely disappointed in a bagel, it ruined the sandwich. I don't know if they change their vendor, but I think the quality of the bagel is something they need to revisit. It was so bad I just felt like... I don't think I'd come back and eat here, which is a shame because the place inside is so charming the outside eating area is so cute and the service and staff have always been...

favorite place here to hang out or do work :) the restaurant is so cute and i like that they have a more spread out quieter seating room, busier seating in the front, and the outdoor seating is gorgeous when it’s nice out. they have outlets and wifi so it’s good for working when it’s not busy (and i drink coffee like it’s water so it’s a good place to be for a while).

i got a quiche and latte, but ive been here a bunch of times and their salads and sandwiches also never miss. great for a bougie brunch moment

it’s so pretty inside and is the perfect place to go be somewhere nice to meet up. also love the historical local pictures on the walls that are fitting since it’s across from the train station. it’s way better than if we had a starbucks in its place. i always visit when i’m back visiting family and wish this place was here when i lived here! really happy to see brakemans...

Second time I was here in a month and both times problems with the orders . My friend ordered separately from me and their order comes out at a reasonable time but my order is delay 20 mins later, mine comes out and my friend is done eating. This happened twice. Last time my friend’s order was delayed , I was done eating and 3 other tables came after us and were served and 2 of those tables were done eating . Friend asked twice where is my order. They gave excuses training new cook staff , takes time for prep and to cook it. UNACCEPTABLE!! Will not be coming back. And they ask for counter TIPS!! GIVE ME A BREAK!
