Hmmm this is one those hard reviews to write. We stopped in here while running errands. Walking in the atmosphere wasn't the greatest. Was dark in the eating area. The main light area was mainly at the front counter and they deserved the spot light for sure. The family that runs this place def care and have amazing customer service. We order our pizza and cheese fries and grab our sodas. They mainly have two liters and can soda. Which is fine. Now the inside maybe little out dated but def the surround windows and looking out at the colebrook railroad is really fun. And it seems to help bring in patrons to there place.
Now lets get back to main interest of this place the family owners. It was funny to sit and listen to there interactions. It was def enjoyable to listen there back and forth.and cool to see how they work together to make everthing. Our cheese fries came out with that fun cheez wiz on it and the fries had a nice crunch to them. While we enjoyed them out pizza came out soon after. Now the pizza def was a let down for us the sauce was different to us and the toppings didn't have the great taste but crust had a good crunch to it. That being said all together it was $25. So i have to say the price properly matched the food quality and surrounding. Which i wasn't really mad about cause i didn't pay that much for it.
If you want something quick and inexpensive food with a fun family that runs the place. This is def the place for you. I could easily run this place down with complaints but the owners do seem to care and trying to do the best they can with what they got. And i can't put them down because they are trying.
While we were there i heard them talking about how they could bring in more people. I would def suggest them that since the colebrook railroad is in there backyard basically they should run with it on the inside. Also see if they could maybe form a partnership with the railroad group. If someone brings there ticket from the ride and get 10 percent off their meal. Make there place last stop on the railroad adventure. It could be very lucrative for them. Put out brochures for the rail road and sponsor events with them or something. maybe even get a partnership with local movie thearter by doing discounts again if they bring there ticket in from the day. Maybe even provide some food they could sell at there concession stand. I would def push your online presence.
I wish the family the best and hope they work towards many more productive years in the future. Who knows i may pop back in but who knows. You want a food at a great value and good customer service...
Read moreTried again with new ownership. So updated review. Fries are way too undercooked. If you order them without a doubt ask for them to be well done. They are almost the same color as the mozzarella and the texture is awful because of how undercooked the fries are. Fries need to be golden. Not white. As for the pizza. I ordered the Sicilian. It was a good flavor. You can really taste the garlic at times. Which might not be for everyone but I loved it. The crust was a little off because it looked like it was layered. I didn’t hate it. But it was a bit weird. Do not order the cheesesteaks. The bread to meat ratio was way off. Flavor was great but it’s all bread. This used to be my favorite cheesesteak locally. They either need to add steak or use a smaller bread. The wings took me back in time to the first time I ever had wings. Absolutely perfect. You don’t have to do nothing. That meat just slides right off. Perfect buffalo flavor as well. Wings will keep me for life. Also tried the cheesesteak pinwheel and that was phenomenal. I let mine get too cold cause I took too long and it was...
Read moreWent on a Monday and place was relatively busy for being in an overall quiet town. It's next to the Colebrookdale RR, and evidently has been newly renovated within the last three or four month. You can the interior looks much newer than the exterior. Nice small mom and pop sort of pizzeria. We had the x-large Margherita pie, a few sandwiches, and the craziest was the calzone. They come in small and large, and you have to really love calzone to get a large because the small is huge. The pizza sauce is slightly on the sweet side and I felt could use a bit more seasoning, but the fresh mozzarella was spot on and the dough was nice and cook and crispy. My daughter got an eggplant parm and said it was great. It's not somewhere we'd go to casually because of the distance (2 hours away), but when we go back to the RR, it's somewhere we'd definitely go to again. The town is also a nice cozy town with small mom...
