2nd Update: I sent my friend in to buy another pizza. I wanted an honest second look before updating this review and you can’t get that when the business knows what food will be reviewed.
This one was better than the first, there was more cheese and sauce than the first time. This pie was average for the area. The crust was good but it was still on the light side with cheese and sauce.
Update: I received a call from Louis at NYPD pizza offering a redo. I will take him up on the offer and post an amended review afterwards.
Maybe it was an off day as the flavor of the pizza was good for what was served, but the price for the value was so atrocious I feel cheated and do not see myself returning. I’ve visited a different NYPD pizza in the past and they had a good pie. This was nothing like that.
I am from NY and I have never seen a pizza with less sauce or cheese on it. I paid 18.77 for a large pepperoni pie with the thinnest layer of sauce and cheese that didn’t even stretch to the end. The crust was so wide you could hardly call this a pizza.
Don’t be fooled by the name, you will not get NY portions. Pizza in NY is just as expensive, but the reason is the sheer amount of sauce and cheese. It seems they are more concerned with profit than offering the...
Read morePizza is not great. UPDATE TO OWNERS COMMENT BELOW: The crust on your pizza was very, very chewy, beyond what I think most people would enjoy. I ate it with two other people and both them also thought it was subpar. In terms of reviews, google often lists places you've been recently and asks for reviews, so yes I did catch up on my reviews today of a few places I’ve been recently. (I don’t care about whatever badge or level Google awards, that’s meaningless to me and it's bizarre of you to even bring it up and use at as an excuse for some people not liking your food). If you check my other reviews you will see very positive ones on many other places, including two pizza places. In terms of you "striving to provide the best experience to your customers" responding to a 2 star, impartial, honest review with VERY hostile language (which you edited out after you first posted, but I saved it), is not exactly the way to convince anyone to try your food. It's a really bad look for a business to get so aggressive with a customer who gave you an honest review. Your customers also work hard for their money and want good food. I also notice you have several 1 star reviews, so clearly I'm not alone in...
Read moreTonight on 10/07 I ordered a takeout order, a Stromboli and a large half cheese/half pepperoni pizza. I placed the order at 8:40pm, a little under an hour before they close at 9:30pm. The quality of food I received tonight was horrible, the pizza was burnt on the top and the dough on the bottom still raw. The Stromboli was also burnt on top, shredded cheese on the inside cold and un melted. I never leave reviews but for the amount of money spent on both items and to receive it in the way it came is terrible. For a Stromboli and large pizza that cost $40 I expected...
