I got there at around 2:30 pm on my way to work and there was an employee at the cash register apparently making an employee purchase assisted by a girl holding a broom in one hand. She was attempting to make the transaction all the while holding the broom in one hand, so it wasn't the quickest transaction, and the other employee had to write down his information, I guess, authorizing his purchase, which extended the time even more.
I waited for almost 5 min to place my order. I was finally acknowledged by the girl still holding the broom in one hand. She did my whole transaction including handing me my change with one hand. I felt like I was interrupting her more important duties and that since I was there she would begrudgingly take my order. As I was sitting there waiting for my order I watched as the employee emptied the trash bins into a bigger bin that he rolled around from the different collection sites while customers sat at tables eating while he was rolling the open trash by them, very unsanitary. I also observed used firefighter work clothes hanging on the wall. . .why? I know they were used, because the boots sitting on the floor were definitely used. How often are they going to be dusted off? I really don't feel like eating in a locker room. I understand the atmosphere they were trying to go for, but it doesn't look very classy.
I can't really say that the quality of the food made up for the lack of customer care. The bread was mediocre at best, not anything special, just your run of the mill mass produced bread that became soggy if not eaten immediately, which my sandwich didn't get unwrapped until I got to Belgrade. The stuff in between the bread was fairly descent, there was a right balance of ingredients and the spices and dressing was good.
I'm giving this 3 stars because I might go back for a second shot, but I don't know at this point I would go as far to say that this would be my go to sandwich shop. I didn't experience a wow...
Read moreI travel across the country for work and I am always pleasantly surprised when the town I'm in has a Firehouse Subs! The food is always great, I'm not sure my order has EVER been incorrect, my food is always prepared in a timely manner and I am consistently treated with respect. I love when employees of a restaurant value my time. Prior to finding the Firehouse in Bozeman I regularly spent more money for lower quality food. I can not think of a realistic area for this location to improve its quality or service. I would love to meet the people in charge of quality control for this company because it is absolutely incredible how consistent they are. Btw if you look at some of my other reviews you will notice I have no problem giving an establishment a low rating but to do that to these guys would...
Read moreYou don't have to be a firefighter to love this place. Firehouse Subs Bozeman is a franchise in a chain of sub shops founded by retired firefighters. The restaurant is decorated with firefighting gear with a big mural dedicate to the Bozeman FD. As a firefighter, I love it. But, the real deal is the food. These are the best subs I've had in Bozeman. The staff is friendly and efficient. They take safety seriously here with pandemic precautions in place from the start--masks on staff and all the proper disinfection. When our department couldn't get hand sanitizer for love or money, the owner, Jeff, donated a liter....
