I was HOSPITALIZED from food poisoning here on Valentines Day 2025. I ordered a level 2 spicy ramen with no bamboo at 6:30pm and by 4am I was experience violent disaggregated and vomiting that landed me so dehydrated that I required IV fluids in the ER. The hospital said it was likely salmonella or shigella and my temperature was 104 for several days. I lost 15lbs and missed 3 days of work.
What was Hokkaido Ramen’s response to a customer being hospitalized from their food? Force me to spend an hour jumping through hoops with ChowNow, their online/takeout ordering software, only for ChowNow to tell me the owner of Hokkaido could have refunded me themselves. They should be responsible for my ER bill and the owner refused to listen to my story. They did not take the issue seriously and I know of one other person who ate there around the same time that day that was also hospitalized for extreme digestion due to food poisoning. Both of us are in our mid 20s, otherwise healthy, active individuals with no underlying health concerns. The illness I got from eating at Hokkaido Ramen was life-threatening and I am a healthy person. DO NOT EAT HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO GET VIOLENTLY SICK AND DEAL WITH HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.
Make this right Hokkaido Ramen Bozeman, I have filed a complaint with the Gallatin County...
Read moreService: 3 Stars We were stoked to try out this ramen place because Bozone has very few options. I’m glad to see them open during the pandemic. It was lackluster service, and it seemed like none of the employees wanted to be there. There was one couple in front of us and less than ten people inside, but still no one greeted us. We sat down in the corner, which turned out to be next to the service door. It kept opening then slamming shut during the meal which was bothersome. It was an awkward experience and everything felt painfully disorganized.
Food: 5 Stars Ramen is all about the broth, and Hokkaido definitely delivered. I had the Spicy Ramen with regular spice. It was rich, creamy and fatty. The pork was a thin cutlet with strips of fat on it. I would order extra meat next time as I thought there wasn’t enough. Baby bok choy and a soft boiled egg topped it off. The noodles were evenly cooked and firm enough to hold up to the broth. Tasty. We also had karaage which was just ok. The sauce they served was like cake frosting it was way too sweet.
Overall it was worth it for the affordable price and quick turn around time. Hopefully next time we go back everything will be more organized and the workers will be...
Read moreFood is always great. They have a guy there that takes orders though, that takes away from the dining experience here. This was the second time experiencing this behavior from this man. He’s unkind and cold. Doesn’t greet you or let you know you’re good to order. Just stares. After ordering and not receiving a number so they knew where to take our order he seemed inconvenienced that we asked for it. While we were eating some nice lady who also didn’t receive a number was approached by this same man. Rudely asked if she was “xyz” number, she let him know she didn’t receive a number and he just rolled his eyes at her while she tried to make sure it’s her order. He says nothing during this whole encounter just stares at her like she’s filth. Really uncomfortable situation. If he put half as much effort into customer service as he does trying to sing (not well) the top 40 playlist playing in the restaurant this may improve the experience slightly. Food for thought to the people maintaining this establishment. I’ve been coming here for years but after the last two experiences I’m not sure the good food makes up for the poor human...
