This place is really cute and has such a cozy vibe. The atmosphere is fantastic, with thoughtful details, like an ashtray with a pack of cigarettes on top. There are plenty of cozy spots to sit, as well as plenty of space for larger groups. When my two girlfriends and I walked in on a busy Saturday evening, the place was packed.
A server greeted us after about a minute and told us they were full, but we could sit at the bar. We agreed and made our way over. My friend asked if we should grab menus, and the server replied, “Oh, yeah.” We were given water within 30 seconds, but then it felt like we were invisible for the next 15 minutes. Finally, one of the bartenders asked if we wanted drinks. I said yes, and mentioned we were ready to order food too. He took our drink order but didn’t take our food order. After another 15-20 minutes, our drinks arrived—and they were absolutely gorgeous and delicious, so I didn’t mind the wait.
I had to flag down a waitress to take our food order, and while she seemed a bit bothered, she did take it. The food arrived about 45 minutes later, and while decent, it wasn’t spectacular. The homemade chips and onion dip felt like a waste of money—honestly, I’d just buy a bag of Ruffles, because that’s what it tasted like. The fries were lukewarm but would have been delicious if they were hot. The bruschetta trio was the highlight, though I thought the multigrain toast for the bread choice was a bit odd. The pretzel tasted like one of those frozen Super Pretzels, which would’ve been fine if they didn’t skimp on the beer cheese (just a tiny ramekin).
None of the staff seemed particularly happy or enthusiastic, and I didn’t feel all that welcome at any point They probably need a couple more people on staff to keep things running smoothly. This place has a lot of potential…hopefully It Won’t Always...
Read moreMy new favorite spot for cocktails and snacks! The food menu is not huge. It is definitely designed more around snacks and sharable plates. We had the Bruschetta Board. You get to choose 3 of the 12 or so options. The 3 we had (Prosciutto, Goat Cheese, and Smoked Salmon) were so good I want to come back and try ALL of them. We also had the Grilled Cheese and Tomato Soup. What can I say? Then nailed it! I could have ordered 2 more rounds! After this, we were not really missing a traditional entrée.
The dessert (Kool-Aid Flavored Pana Cotta) is whimsical and nostalgic, not pretentious. What a creative use of a non-traditional ingredient!
The drinks were also fantastic. The martini list is where they shine. We tried the Pumpkin Pie, S'mores, Almond Joy, and Earl Grey Rush. Again, we must return soon to try all the others! Kudos to Chef Christian, and the Bar Staff on such a fun menu! See...
Read moreIt Will Always Be That Way is one of the cutest little bars in Bozeman, serving up some of the best cocktails in town! The atmosphere is straight out of the ’70s in the best way — it’s like stepping onto the set of That ’70s Show. The key lime pie cocktail and the lemonade cocktail are my personal favorites, and I love bringing friends here for a fun night out.
My only critique is that service can be hit or miss. I’ve had many visits with absolutely top-notch service, but there have been times when servers seemed more focused on chatting with coworkers than checking on tables. On one occasion, a staff member even accused me of bumping into him while he was blocking the pathway to the bathroom, which was an odd and uncomfortable interaction.
That said, one bad experience won’t keep me away. The drinks and atmosphere make it a place I’ll continue to...
