Plaza Azteca Bozeman — Restaurant in Bozeman

Phenomenal! We went to eat here last night and we were super impressed by the level of perfection on opening night! This place will last. This is by far the best Mexican restaurant we have in town, it's the only one I like to be honest. The service was amazing and the food was awesome! Chips, salsa and queso are great(also noticed they do tables side guacamole which we will have to try in the future) and they have a ton of really good options on the menu. As people who love texmex, we were thrilled to see enchiladas on the menu and find out we can customize and order them just how we like them as well. The only first night glitch there was was that my husband's enchiladas came out with cold cheese in the middle but we could tell they were going to be really good. Our waitress came by quickly to see how everything was and he told her they were really good but the cheese inside was cold and not melted, she immediately said let us fix that, took his plate and they brought a new, hot, delicious plate out super fast. Honestly this was the best service we've experienced in Bozeman. Frieindly, quick , and eager to take care of their customers! The atmosphere is a little brighter than the last place that was in that space, which was really nice and we were pleasantly surprised at the price of our bill for how amazing of an overall eating out experience that was. I can't stress enough how good the food is. It is so refreshing to have a place like this in Bozeman finally! Judging from how packed this place gets after 5pm, I'd say it is a hit with Bozeman locals. Arrive early or eat at a time away from the usual lunch/dinner hours because parking is very tight. When we arrived around 4pm our hostess was really distracted and puzzled about where to seat us even though there were only 4 tables seated and most of the tables were empty. She did not greet us at all, she just looked at us, motioned for us to wait, and then took several minutes to figure out where to seat the two of us. This was off putting to begin our dining experience this way and we hoped it was not a sign of things to come, and fortunately, it was not. The free chips and salsa were fresh and came quickly along with some waters and a smiling and efficient waiter. We had the plantains, beef enchilada, chili relleno, Carne asada and shrimp tacos and they were all very good. Large portions and the rice and beans were good as well. The sauces are all home made and the food does have a little kick to it. They do have habanero salsa upon request. The food is extremely SALTY so be aware. What a great find Plaza Azteca was this evening! Everyone was so friendly and gracious, and the food was amazing - probably the best Mexican food we've ever had (and that's saying a lot)! Our waiter brought chips and salsa immediately, both of which were excellent with just the right amount of cilantro in the salsa. My husband ordered the #5 combo and I ordered the enchiladas chipotle. Our entrees arrived quickly, everything was steaming hot, and portions were so generous! We each had items that gave us a chance to try the ground beef, shredded beef, and chicken. All were DELICIOUS!! Each meat had a bit of a kick and each was so tender and full of flavor.
