What a shame, a restaurant I formerly really enjoyed for their food and service has become a lousy and over-priced spot with the some of the rudest restaurant staff I have ever encountered.
I went to Seven for a Friday night out with a girlfriend, expecting the usual good vibes and food, friendly staff and enjoyable dining. I left completely shook up and appalled that Seven is operating at such low standards. We ordered our food, all of which came out hot and tasty. I had ordered the shrimp teriyaki, which was and is STILL advertised as $17. Upon receiving the check, the price had magically jumped to $20! Imagine my surprise when I was up-charged $3 with no warning! To be clear, a $3 price difference is not exactly a lot of money, but it was the principle of the matter that irked me and left me never wanting to return to Seven.
I alerted my waitress, Kelsey to the discrepancy on the bill, only to be told that they are up-charging certain items on the menu because of the pandemic, and that they didn't have control of the menu being updated, and she couldn't do anything. I then asked to speak to a supervisor, which prompted a very irritated look and response from Kelsey. After about 20 minutes of clearly trying to find a way around their false advertising and rude behaviors, the manager finally made his way over to our table. After telling him that I felt the waitress was rude, and that the menu and bill reflected different prices, he told me that while he could discount my bill to reflect the menu price, he didn't know if he wanted to because I was having an attitude. HA! I will take up the rest of my issues with the legality of Seven's behavior with another hopefully more competent manager at another time, but for now I will leave with this:
Seven, learn how to train your staff to avoid these issues. The number one rule of customer service is that the customer is always right. I have worked over a decade in various lines of customer service; I am not a fan of that line of thinking, but it is the backbone of customer service, so you gotta accept it and move on! To be spoken to by a manager like I was a child being punished for bad behavior is utterly embarrassing and shocking for a restaurant of any caliber, but especially one of Seven's. I will NEVER return to your lousy establishment; I have never left any place so shook up and shocked. I was made to feel like I did something wrong because the waitress failed to mention the up-charge, and the restaurant failed to advertise it anywhere else or update their menu! Yet somehow, it was my fault and I became the person to blame? Fix your problems, they are pretty serious.
For everyone else, stick to Dave's; far better food,...
Read moreThis place is the best in Bozeman. With the new location this place is much better then before. The place is much larger then before and now waiting for a table is a thing of the past. I had no issues getting sat on a Saturday evening. Not because there were not people there but because the place is 3 times the size.
I sat at the sushi bar and the chef was a very nice guy. He asked about my tastes and made suggestions based on what I like. He knew the menu very well and was able to pair the drinks with the sushi I wanted perfectly. I tend to like spicier foods and he made some changes to the rolls to suit my tastes better. I had the soco mango roll and yellowtail ribs with rice and some seared tuna. It was all amazing the tuna was perfectly seared. The flavor of the seared part of the tuna with the sauce and the raw inner part of the pieces were perfect together. The ribs were perfectly cooked and falling off the bone so to say. The roll was very tasty the perfect blend of sweet, spicy and creamy. The rice was soft and fluffy and the crab was fresh. For after the meal I got the red bean and mango mochi ice cream drizzles with honey. Both of which were very tasty, a perfect end to the meal.
Everything on the menu looked amazing. I saw some orders of carpaccio that were ordered by tables near me and it looked amazing. Being able to cook the Wagyu beef the way you want it with a few dipping sauces sounds great. I plan to order this the next time I go. All of the rolls look very appetizing and all the food I saw passing my table made me want to eat more and more.
Over all I would have to say that the staff was very attentive to all my needs and very helpful with all the questions I had. Some people at the table next to me had some food allergies and the server was very helpful and considerate in making sure that their food was prepared appropriately.
All and all after reading some of the negative reviews I can not see what anyone is complaining about. This place has turned into a new favorite of mine. I will tell anyone that asks that this is the best place in Bozeman for great food. I will be returning often and I will make it a point to have everything on the menu. I cant...
Read moreHeadlines (delivery order): Yakisoba dish was 3 pounds of dry noodles sushi roll sent without soy sauce poorly packaged, sauce spilled and bag nearly broke thru Manger took no responsibility and was rude
Read on for details…
I ordered for delivery through a third-party service. The sauce from the Yakisoba noodles had soaked through the bag. It almost collapsed before I could get it to a flat surface where it made a mess. I requested silverware and received no chopsticks or silverware. I ordered a sushi roll and received no soy sauce.
The noodle dish itself weighed about 4 pounds and was 90% noodles that were completely dry. I know that some sauce spilled out, but the container was lined with foil and there was no sauce at the bottom.
I called the restaurant and spoke to the takeout order department and the worker’s response was “OK.” I asked if he might want to apologize and his response was that he did not pack up the order. I called back and spoke to the manager, Jeb, who was defensive and told me that the takeout order worker was new. When I mentioned that it was the manager’s responsibility to train the employees to take ownership of poor service, he became even more defensive.
When I told him my complaints about the packaging and missing items, he told me that they take no responsibility for any order once it leaves the door and that the delivery service would have to deal with the issues (which they promptly did, with profuse apologies). When I said it wasn’t the delivery service’s fault that there was no soy sauce in the order, he told me that since the roll had a mayonnaise sauce on it already, there was no need to include soy sauce and they don’t send soy sauce out with that roll.
Either he was lying to cover their mistake or they honestly have no idea how sushi is served. Either way this was a completely...
