New bagel shop close to home⌠To say we were excited is an understatement. They have a nice storefront and the store is well decorated. The order taker was super nice and helpful. That said, whoever designed the restaurant knew nothing about HVAC. Itâs 93 degrees outside and itâs cooler outside than inside the store.
We ordered a couple of breakfast bagels with sausage, egg, and cheese. We also got a couple of bagels for later.
After ordering the experience went downhill. After waiting 20mins we see a person who came in after us get their orderâŚno big deal, that happens for various reasons. 5 or 6 minutes later that table calls the expediter over to their table, showing them a couple of opened breakfast bagels. We watch her take the bagels back to the line, fully undo the existing wrapping and rewrapping the bagels in n new wrapping. She then took the bagels to the expo station bagged them up and tried to give them to us. Obviously we refused them since the previous customer had opened and handled them. When they remade them they made mine on a plain bagel instead of the everything I ordered.
Pros: -The sausage was really, really good⌠some of the best I have ever had.
-The egg was well cooked, but it could do with some seasoning. I also think a single egg instead of 2 would improve the overall balance and flavor of the sandwich.
-The order taker Anna, was super nice and helpful.
-The texture of the bagel was excellent, crispy on the outside and soft and creamy inside.
Cons:
-There is no way I would eat in the store, itâs way too hot.
-Trying to give opened food to a customer after another customer has opened and handled it is a bad idea, even McDonaldâs doesnât try that.
-The bagel was bland, this may be partly because I got plain instead of everything, so I look forward to trying the everything.
Hopefully most of this is growing pains and they will refine processes and procedures to improve the customer experience. Hopefully they work with an HVAC engineer to deal with all the heat put off the line and the 476...
Read moreWent and tried an Italian Hoagie ordered a large, split it with my wife, it was big and delicious. Full of Boars Head meats I was shocked being from Philadelphia the bread was awesome, semolina roll with sesame seeds, the meats were fantastic, the cheese was on spot not the provalone you usully get in Bradenton that taste like soap The only complaint was I am allergic to raw onions, I orgdered onions on the side for my wife, Hoagie came with onions on it, told waitress sorry cant eat this, she brings it back to the kitchen, Im watching as one of the cooks simply takes the onions off. She returns,I said did he make a new Hoagie? She lies says yes, I smelled it anyway as I saw him physicaly remove the raw onions...I said to her I cant eat this it still smells of raw onions, she then second return had it fixed... The food was great the staff well are there but need supervision, I was told by waitress the lady at the counter wrote the order incorrectly, I was able to read it she was onspot!
This needs to be addressed, its a small isuue, but damn be honest! Ill go back as I want to try their cheesesteak. Hopefully they will have somoene who cares about what they serve running the place... Want to see them succeed...
Read moreYour mileage may vary is how I'll start this. The restaurant was not open long when I visited. The store was very clean, smelled nice and was well air conditioned. The staff were pleasant.
The food is made to order, nice, but I wish the young man made both of my bagel sandwiches at the same time. It took a rather long time to get my food. The whole artisan thing is nice, but...
I tried the pork roll and pastrami bagel sandwiches. The quality was great. The pastrami was very smokey, some may find it too much so. They were both heavy, a good value, no question.
I also got some tuna salad, which was really great. Simple, just the way I like it. Very fresh and absolutely no 'tuna funk'.
However, they were both excessively greasy for me and yes, I suffered for it. I am an old fart though, a decade ago, it wouldn't have likely been a problem.
So, long story long, they lost one star for inefficiency and one for greasiness. Will I go back? I would like to try the subs,...
