The location is very unique although the service and food was lackluster. When I arrived there was a confusion for our party although the people who would be present had already prepaid. The woman who hosted us was upset because they prepared for four guests and continued to say how they would need to throw away the food prepared. When we never confirmed 4 and our 4th possible guest never called to pre pay. Wee only asked if we were able to add on a guest if that would be possible to our existing reservation which they said was fine they would just need to call and pre pay. Well when I confirmed it’s only three the host continued to make sly comments on how they will need to throw the food and this is why we make people prepay which all three of us had. When my friends got there she continued to guilt trip them almost as if she wanted us to pay for a 4th person who never confirmed or pre paid thus for why would you prepare food for them? The irony is the food looked and tasted like store bought and is not a three course meal. The soup is served in a teacup so imagine how small that is, most of the mini sandwiches are made of white bread and the pastries appeared store bought quite obviously by the blue cupcake on top. And before the host makes a sly remark on how we ate some of the food of course we did we already paid 35 dollars each for it and I’ll never waste food. The point is personally the food is not worth the price and the initial host was unprofessional and made our experience...
Read moreWent here a while back and it was an OK experience, food was decent, and we enjoyed ourselves.. fast forward to this year/ the day before Mother’s Day and things seem to have dramatically changed for the worst. Staff was not very attentive or helpful. When we asked for things like sugar they would say they get it and never returned. Everything from the kids plate, and even the most of the food for the adults all came from the publix bakery and everything seemed to be prepackaged or already made that they put together. Nothing seemed “made fresh” there. Seems like they put no effort into anything like customer service/ food or the overall experience. After we got our food, nobody returned, and even after we were done eating, nobody came to check on us, and since we had already paid beforehand we ended up just getting up and leaving since nobody was around. We left feeling very unsatisfied and all agreed that we would most likely never return. I don’t know if was an off day or what but for the price we paid it was all very disappointing. 1/10 do not recommend
EDIT: Since owner responded that the food is all fresh and proprietary I would like to add that the kids plate contained the following: PBJ, grilled cheese, 1 singular entenmanns mini muffin, 1 sprinkle sugar cookie you get for free at Publix, and 1 small brownie bite from the publix bakery and a small bowl of yogurt, ( probably yoplait) with some whipped...
Read moreMy friend and I went for lunch/tea. We were warmly greeted by Debbie (and another woman whose name I did not catch) but they were both lovely and attentive to us throughout the entire time. Each group/guest had their own room which even outside of Covid is wonderful so you can enjoy your time with your own company (I’ve been to other tea houses where everyone is in one open room which can be loud, so this individual space was fabulous). The food was delicious, especially the chicken & dumpling soup, cucumber sandwich and lemon meringue dessert. There were lovely antiques/tchotchkes to buy, if that is your thing and I bought several teas which I am eager to try. My only comment (not a complaint but comment/feedback) is that while they had two pots of two different flavor teas, we were not given a choice, so we had to drink what was there. I understand they have to prepare in advance for your reservation, but I wouldn’t mind waiting for the tea to be made if I was able to personally select what flavors I wanted. With that said, the two teas I had were delicious. Overall wonderful experience and reasonably priced. I highly recommend this hidden gem in Brandon. I will be...
