Finally was able to go here as it is always packed. Loved the atmosphere and the decor is wonderful. Staff was super friendly and everything felt very relaxed and easy going. We got the creme brulee souffle pancakes and two flavors of the taiyaki, taro and cream filled. Loved the cream filled taiyaki, the cream was slightly sweet and went well with the pastry. The taro was kind of disappointing for being under the sweet menu, we found it kinda earthy and reminded me of canned green beans in terms of flavor (it wasn't terrible but definitely didn't feel like a sweet treat). The souffle pancakes do take a little bit of time to get which they do warn you about when ordering (about 20 mins as they are made to order). It didn't seem like a long wait at all and I was impressed with the presentation (I got it to go which I am glad for as it is a large serving!). I liked the creme brulee flavor and it was nice that they layered the filling in-between each pancake. I feel like the pancake itself could of used a tab bit more sugar in the batter but I know that as a Japanese dessert, it won't be as sweet as American sweets. I loved the fresh fruit with it as well. Definitely large enough to share with a friend in my opinion. We plan to be back to try the ice cream and the jelly fish that we saw offered. I also want to try the coffee next time. Cute spot! I recommend for a nice place to grab a treat and hang...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of stopping at Kichi Taiyaki and it was quite the experience! Situated in a lively shopping center, the restaurant's location is convenient, although finding parking can be a bit of a hassle during busy times.
From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by the most polite staff. Their warm welcome set the tone for a pleasant dining experience.
Now, let's talk about the food and boba – absolutely incredible! Each item was bursting with flavor, and the boba drinks were a perfect blend of sweetness and refreshment. It's evident that the staff put a lot of love and care into their creations.
The decor and overall vibe of the location were also spot-on. The trendy ambiance made it the perfect place to hang out with friends or simply enjoy a meal alone.
However, I do have one minor complaint – the wait time for food was a bit longer than expected. Despite the excellent service and delicious food, I found myself waiting for over 20 minutes for my order to arrive. While I understand that good things take time, improving the speed of service could really elevate the experience.
Overall, my time at Kichi Taiyaki was enjoyable. With its delectable dishes, welcoming atmosphere, and friendly staff, it's definitely worth a visit. If they can work on reducing wait times, I'm confident that this place will become a favorite among locals and...
Read moreI went to this establishment earlier this year and we ordered 2 Souffle Pancakes. After waiting around 5-8 minutes, the order order came out with one of the pancakes being incorrect. I notified them and was told the correct order would be out shortly. We waited in an empty restaurant for this entire duration with some strange music on loop.
25 minutes after the order mistake, I received my pancakes. My pancakes were at least double the height of the first orders and actually puffy. We concluded the first orders had to have been already prepared and reheated. While we were waiting an excessive amount of time, I inquired if there was a discount, as my guest had already completely finished her meal while I was still waiting. After watching a long back/forth with someone in the kitchen, they said they could offer 10% off. The counter person was nice, but it was clear the people in the kitchen were frustrated.
My pancakes were pretty good, but there was 2 pea sized chunks of eggshell. The entire situation was awkward and handled poorly by the kitchen staff and "manager". I won't be going back or recommend anyone go here. The entire 'thing' about these pancakes is their puffy texture. Serving reheated food and then being upset with your guests about is is lazy. Any other restaurant would have given the order free after a situation and...
