I ordered food online at 9:30 a.m and the confirmation said my order would be ready at 9:57 a.m. I arrived at 10:10 a.m. the waitress immediately asked for the name and then my I.D and when I told her I don’t need an I.D to pick up the food, she asked for a confirmation number. All of this before she went to look for my order. I told her then name it was under and she goes to look for it and it’s not there. She come and tell me that it’s not ready yet. If I got a confirmation that said it’s supposed to be ready at 9:57 A.M!!!! How was it not ready by the time I got there at 10:10?! I asked to speak with a manager and here come Forrest which I found out is a managing partner of this location. He come over and sit down while I’m standing which told me everything I needed to know. Customer service is not what customer service use to be. Anyway I ask him about my order and he checked to see if it was bagged and ready and it was not. In fact, they allowed an uber driver to take my order. So I asked how was an uber driver able to take my food if I was immediately asked for my ID and confirmation number when I came in?? Why was I asked all of these extra security questions?? But an uber driver was not checked before handing over my food! Forrest was passive aggressive, did not apologize for the inconvenience, and when I asked why was I asked all of these questions to pick up some food, he tell me he has already corrected the order and we’re going round in circles. When I say customer service no longer exists, this is what I mean! I’m taking the black dollars with me when I say they will never see my black dollars again. I knew something wasn’t right when I seen all the black ppl in the kitchen and all the servers was white. DONT EAT HERE IF YOU’RE BLACK. YOUR DOLLARS IS NOT APPRECIATED BUT TOLERATED. Watch...
Read moreBRUH.............I have been to this place 3 times in the last 3 weeks. I am NOT a little dude, so know that I AM telling the truth. The first time I came, I was unsure of what to order...until a big, chonky plate of CHICKEN & WAFFLES passed by my table. Spicy syrup, strawberry butter, HALF A CHICKEN (NO joke, LITERALLY spoken) and a light, crispy, tasty waffle. The chicken was flawlessly fried to the perfect temp. Juicy, crispy, tasty......PERFECT. I wanted to rub my FACE in it, it was so good. The 2nd time I came, I had the Fish & Chips. 2 large golden fried fish filets, and a mound of fries. Topped it all off with the absolute BEST KEY LIME PIE I have ever eaten. I take my KLP VERY seriously, I have eaten KLP in Key West.....WHERE IT ORIGINATED, and wasn't as impressed as I was at Metro Diner. The 3rd time, was today. Almost no wait, seated quickly. Our waitress (i am so sorry, but i did not get your name, Miss) was johnny-on-the-spot with our drinks, and service. I was gonna order something different.......until 3 plates of Chicken & Waffles drifted by my table.....again. Plus, I was able to get it with chicken TENDERS in lieu of bone chicken!!! If it ain't broke, don't fix it! FORREST, you are THE MAN, your crew is awesome, your food is fantastic, and we will...
Read moreSaw this place as a franchise of local joint in Jacksonville. You can just tell this place isn’t up to snuff.
Atmosphere is good, nice decor, lighting, and seating. Parking lot is crazy, even a Wednesday mid morning. Our server was less than excited to be there, and didn’t speak loud enough to hear. I’m 34, and was directly next to her. The hostess had the same issue, mumbling. Place got busier after we arrived.
Drinks took a while. But we’re fine.
Our order was placed and we waited. Waited some more. Wrong food came out. Took to the correct table. Soon after our food was ready.
We two adults, two kids. And while the kids were entertained by the coloring menu, our food was less than good. Our pancakes undercooked and chewy, waffle and chicken came out well, but they forgot the strawberry butter that comes with it, and when we asked they insisted it wasn’t on the menu, which we took the menu and showed them. Grits were gelled and rubbery, eggs were standard. My wife opted for a switch of two standard pancakes for one cinnamon roll pancake, which when the food arrived, was two standard pancakes. Waitress didn’t care to correct.
Less than good, should go down the road to first watch. Or IHOP would have...
