Terrible Experience — Would Not Recommend

I recently visited Shoreline Cafe and Catering in Branford, CT, and was incredibly disappointed by both the product quality and the customer service. I purchased four cookies ($5) at a total price of $20, expecting fresh, quality baked goods. Unfortunately, the cookies were clearly stale. I politely asked for a refund or even a partial discount, and the response from the manager was shockingly unprofessional.

She refused any form of refund, claiming that by trying the cookies, I had “eaten” them, and therefore was not entitled to anything. When I explained they were inedible and I had no intention of keeping them, she dismissed my concern entirely and told me it was my problem if I chose to throw them away. There was no apology, no empathy just rudeness and a complete lack of basic customer service.

This experience left a terrible impression. I will not be returning to Shoreline Cafe and I would caution others to think twice before spending their money here. Stale food and poor customer treatment should never be part of the experience especially at a place charging...

I have been to several parties Shoreline has catered. My wedding was by far my favorite. The staff are always one step ahead of anything that needs to be done. They are very friendly and personable. The food though...better than most restaurants I dine at! I have not stopped getting compliments from my guests on the food Shoreline made for my wedding. Some of the favorites were the cheeseburger eggrolls, crab cakes, pulled pork, brisket, baked potato bar, mac and cheese, corn bread, and my all time favorite macaroni salad. Shoreline also catered our rehearsal dinner the night before. My brother’s jaw dropped when he learned he could cut his filet mignon with his butter knife. I have been coming to Shoreline for years and have never experienced such rude customer service. One of the women (shown in picture) has been nothing but rude to my sister and i multiple times now. Gives dirty looks since she recognizes us because we used to be loyal customers. NOW never again. I’m not sure if she owns the place or a minimum wage worker who takes the job way too seriously. She is rude about NOTHING, and i can’t keep quiet about it. I’ll be waiting in line ready to pay and instead of helping me and the line behind she answers the phone and takes an order instead of placing them on hold. I refuse to take the disrespect for some...
