Bullied out of this restaurant by an owner!?!? We have been in this restaurant several times over the past years. Our experience has always been mediocre however mediocre is better than being bullied! and bullied by an owner no less!

We really only go in for a quick glass of wine & after yesterday's experience we will NEVER go back. We sat at the bar near 4:30 pm. Everything seemed normal at first. Older distinguished looking couple to our right and a three men having cocktails on our left, a typical happy hour however it was not. The men on our left were being extremely loud & swearing. One of them walked back & forth from the hostess station, making it obvious he was an emplyee or owner. We were not going to say anything at first until the couple on our right expressed to us the same feeling, that they were uncomfortable from the men on our left and could not have their own conversation because of the boisterous behavior.

This being what we thought was a classy restaurant my husband asked the men to quiet down a bit. They pretty much told us to F^{K ourselves. My husband asked if they owned the joint since they were telling us our kind was not welcome there & the bartender reluctantly admitted that one of them was an owner.

One of the three men told us to "get the F^{K out" then when we left they followed us out to the street and yelled that he was calling the police to tell them we left without paying our tab. Shameful & adolescent behavior. This is hopefully our one & only experience like that. What we can control is that we will never be back!

Nick, no thank you for the double edged apology. With all of the false information you have fabricated for public viewing why apologize in the same write up?

The man better described as “boy” who told us to leave had stated “You don’t belong here... leave & I’ll pay your tab.” That’s when we had our fill and left. Hopefully he did pay the tab. The bartender had nothing to do with anything and was a delight and has been a delight in our other visits.

If you are the manager and you were there then why would you not speak up and say I am the manager here? If my husband was being so offensive and started the fight by asking them to quiet down why would you not say “I’m the manager” These questions are obviously rhetorical because the only thing you’ll come back with will be lies

We now know enough to never go into your establishment again. I believe from the tone of everything that has been involved that’s the way your restaurant runs. You should read up on the psychology behind why some people cannot admit when they’re wrong and would rather falsify information rather than self reflect and become a better person or business.

  • By the way my Google Account is valid. Your business is one of the few that I have written and negative review on. I write mostly positive reviews. I prefer to give credit where...

I went here with my mother and sister recently after a day at the spa. Delicious. We all had the "secret" cobb salad that was on the hidden menu. My mother and I had blackened chicken, my sister had grilled blackened shrimp. It was so good that this is now the salad I hold all other salads too in comparison. My only regret is that it isn't on the main menu and other patrons won't know of it's existence if they aren't lucky enough to be enlightened by the excellent wait staff. If you are brave enough to ask for an off menu item and are looking for a salad, THIS IS THE ONE!

Side note, if I am being COMPLETELY honest, the place had a bit of a strange smell about it. It was slightly over powering upon entering. We all noticed it and commented on it immediately after being sat. I don't know if it was the brick, the napkins, or just the smell of a dark damp room. Either way, we eventually got used to it. And the food was so good we forgot about it altogether. I'm only bringing it up to tell you not to let this...

Unfortunately I got food poisoning from this establishment and wasn’t sure where it was from (and honestly didn’t think was it this place until I went to my teenager’s school play)… One of the main lead characters the next day was (same symptoms as me) SO sick they had to use his understudy. After talking to my daughter who had ZERO idea where we’d ate the previous day she said “Oh yea I forgot to tell you guys! ((Kids name)) Got food poisoning really bad from this place in Branford called like, cozy pasta or something and that’s why he’s not here tonight!” His experience was just like mine— throwing up everything I drank or ate for approx 6 hours unable to keep anything even water down. Side note: I actually loved the dish taste-wise (classic spaghetti*) Also l ate all of it but I’m 99.999% sure something was stored incorrectly somewhere or labeled wrong date-wise. I later found out my teenager’s friend and I had the exact same dish as I did on the exact same day...

Pasta Cosi consistently delivers an exceptional dining experience. This review reflects our most recent visit. Over the past six years, we have been loyal patrons of this establishment and have never been disappointed with the quality of the meals. Recently, we celebrated the holidays with a party of six. Our meal commenced with craft cocktails, wine, and a selection of appetizers, including lamb pops, fried mozzarella, eggplant rollatini, and seared ahi tuna. Each dish was expertly prepared and presented. Our entrees included short rib Ragu over rigatoni, Lobster Arrbiata over linguine, and the Mulberry Street special. Desserts featured homemade tiramisu, black and white cake, and expertly crafted espresso martinis. The head chef, Christian, personally ensured that our meal met our expectations. His commitment to exceptional service is truly appreciated. Our dining experience this evening was outstanding, consistent with our past visits, and we look forward to returning.

Dinner at Pasta Cosi last night. Very good service. Seriously mediocre food. Terrible vibe. Openly hostile other patrons?? Weird. Awful. Pictured: Seafood Salad Special. VERY FRESH. Tasty, although lacked seasoning (I added hot red pepper flake). Very far from the Scungilli Salad I thought it would be (based on the description). Sole Florentine. Again, VERY FRESH fish. Proper egg wash/batter. Served over spinach with shitake mushrooms (LOVE SHITAKES!). Again. Lacked flavor. Half order of Penne alla Vodka. As you can see: this is NOT Vodka sauce. I asked my server. He said that it was Def Vodka sauce. So I guess this is what they think is Vodka sauce??? Uhhhh....incorrect. It was very mediocre Marinara with lackluster tomatoes and very little...you guessed it: flavor!! Cannot recommend.

We have come to this cute little spot off the Branford green a couple times and just heard that they are doing brunch on Sundays from 10 am to 2 pm. Each time we have come here it has been a little cold so I would encourage a light sweater if you get cold easily. There was a little confusion about our order as the hostess covered for the server so we wouldn't be kept waiting to put our order in. We got the lobster and pork belly Benedict and the homemade biscuits and they were kind enough to bring us extra plates as we said we share our dishes. Both dishes we good but did not blow us out of the water. We ended up ordering the fried calimari because we were still hungry. I would recommend checking this place out for brunch or dinner if you are ever in the area.
