This review is lengthy but i gotta say this.
My fam and I visited in Xmas 2019... this is a really good place for good cooked homestyle meal.
HOWEVER!! 😄😄
My experience yesterday(Sun Sep 25th @ 6pm-ish) was somewhat of a hiccup, no thanks to waiter "skip"🙄.
Yip, Skip smh!! He was not helpful at all! No way, horse hay!🤪!! nor did he offer any when i told him i couldn't finish eating the last portion of my cheesburger, which was overdone & crunchy...my meat!!! Uggggh😩 [i.e. "im sorry ma'am can chef fix another burger...OR.... can i offer a discount on meal,?"] NOPE, NADA, UNH-UNH🤨😌; the only discount i rec'd was from coupon i brought in with me! He says, "i havent seen her yet, she's around here somewhere", and walked away with our cc & invoice to process....im disturbed & hot under my collar. Yip! Skip! FYI I DID CALL THIS MORNING[Mon, Sept 26th] AND SPOKE TO KARI, MGR, AND I SHARED MY EXPERIENCE WITH HER AND SHE ASKED THOROUGH QUESTIONS. SHE WAS ENGAGED AND SO SWEET AND EMPATHETIC ABOUT THE WHOLE EXPERIENCE.
NOT ONLY DID SHE APOLOGIZED FOR "SKIP" BEHAVIOR SHE ASKED ME TO STOP BY BEFORE WE LEAVE BRANSON, SHE HAS SOMETHING FOR ME.
THANK YOU KARI FOR LISTENING AND JUST BEING KIND & CORDIAL ABOUT THE MATTER. AND ITS NOT ABOUT RECEIVING SOMETHING; ITS ABOUT THE PRINCIPLE OF IT ALL.... IF A CUSTOMER IS UNHAPPY, CARING AND MAKING SURE THE CUSTOMER IS HAPPY IS TAKEN CARE OF WHILE THEY'RE PATRONIZING YOUR BUSINESS IS THE GOLDEN RULE.😊 TRUTH.
HOPEFULLY SKIP WILL IMPROVE HIS CUSTOMER SERVICE...
Read moreWORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. My husband and I were in Branson for the week of Christmas. We wanted some lunch on Christmas and not much was open in the area. We were thankful that restaurant was so we ordered take out so we could go back to our condo and relax. We ordered a crispy chicken sandwich with all the fixings and fries and a club deluxe. We picked up the food, the food was already in a bag so I didn't even think to check the good. We drove all the way back to our condo. The picture I posted is what we received that was supposed to be a crispy chicken sandwich with all the fixings. As you can see it's just a piece of meet with nothing on it. I called the restaurant and the employee who picked up the phone said they could replace it if we drove all the way back. I wasn't feeling well either so another drive back sounded miserable. We just wanted to eat the other sandwich before it got cold and couldn't drive another 20 minutes one way back to get the sandwich replaced. I asked for a refund and the employee said she would talk to the manager and took my phone number and said she would call back if there were any problems with the refund for the one sandwich. I believed her so we went about our day. The next day (today) there wasn't a pending refund on my card so my husband and I stopped by the restaurant on our way out of town today to ask about about refund. The manager said no manager was told yesterday and they don't give money back. She acted like we were lying. I told her what her employee said and she didn't offer to make anything right. She didn't even offer to replace our meal. She said there was nothing she could do about it. She was very rude and not willing to compensate for any of their mistakes. She didn't even apologize. So now we had to leave with no refund or any food replacement. We had to take a total loss. I will never be back there. Don't spend your money with this uncaring establishment with horrible customer service. I will also be reporting...
Read moreIt’s a fine thing when a meal is more than just a meal, when it becomes a little story you carry home with you, like a pebble from the beach or a hymn stuck in your head. That’s what happened to us at McFarlain's.
Kimberly and I came in with our three grandsons—14, 12, and 10—boys full of energy and appetite. The hostess put us at a round table just the right size for the five of us, close enough for conversation and a little elbow bumping, the way families are meant to eat. The room had that soft Ozarks glow, wood and warmth, like a place that’s been feeding people for generations.
Our food arrived—hot, plentiful, and smelling wonderful—and that’s when we noticed it. The table was… higher. Slowly, almost shyly, it had risen, and little Cayden, our youngest, was peering over the edge like a prairie dog over a fencepost. Kimberly looked at me as if I’d somehow engineered this mischief, and I didn’t deny it quickly enough. The waitress came over grinning and let us in on the joke: we’d been seated at one of their “rising tables,” the kind that lifts you right out of your everyday and into a good laugh.
The food? Well, Kimberly had the BLT and said it was one of the best of her life—and she’s had a few. My tea was sweet and strong enough to stand a spoon in, the way it ought to be. The plates were generous, the flavors honest, and there was that contented quiet around the table you only get when everyone’s too busy enjoying themselves to talk.
So, if you find yourself in Branson, stop in at McFarlain’s. Ask for a rising table if you dare, order something hearty, and settle in for a meal that might just turn into a family legend. It’s good to be reminded, now and then, that life can lift you up—sometimes...
