What a fantastic experience. From the moment I walked in the door I was impressed. Beautiful clean establishment
The employees are sharp dressed groomed classy and friendly.
The bar area fully stocked and clean. Chicken Chimi- Fantastic Shredded chicken. Crispy cheesy on outside, moist flavorful shredded chicken inside
White Queso- My gal is a Queso junkie but very particular and she said it's good enough to drink. Even has a little bite
Rice- Moist flavorful enough to eat all alone but once again not overpowering. perfect compliment
Beans- Hesitant when I saw them (kinda pale) but they too blew me away. Have a rich flavor I can't quite describe but I know I like it
Frijoles Charros - Even better than refried. Loaded with flavor (and bacon!) and a perfect blast of heat
Salsa- different than most but I dig it
Steak tacos-loaded and juicy
Chicken tacos-cubes were kinda dry and hard. My fault for forgetting to specify shredded
Enchiladas - little wet for my taste and I was expecting some type of red sauce but they just came with melted cheese. Beef was kinda gravy-ish
Guac- Extremely fresh and chunky. No filler here it's all premium avocado. Wouldn't mind a little more heat though.
Presentation- the food was absolutely beautifu on the plate (pale beans notwithstanding but they were delicious).
Mojito- Minty fresh. Kinda weak on spirits for the price ($10) but considering I ordered it on an empty stomach and had to drive that may have been a good thing
Portions - Just filled up on leftovers again and I still have some left
Final thought - Been in Branson awhile now and until tonight I knew of a couple Mexican joints I definitely wouldn't be returning to (talking to you canned chicken water margarita Tequilas 2) but this is the first I can say without hesitation that I will be returning to. My gal is going thru chemo and the moments she feels well enough to go out are few and far between. Thank you for making this time a great experience
Edit-went again. Had a beer and a Margarita. Ice cold beer and delicious Margarita
Carne Asada tacos- A little disappointed. I love to squeeze a TOUCH of the included limes on my tacos but the steak was obviously marinated heavily in lime already. It was quite overpowering and even made my mouth raw. Still they were fresh and stuffed full so I'm sticking...
Read moreNormally when we come to Branson this is our favorite Mexican place to eat. Tonight was a terribly disappointing different story. We arrived an hour before they closed. We were seated and immediately we notice a server talking (not serving) to another girl at the end of our row of tables. She turned out to be our server. She came over to get our drink order an immediately we noticed inch and a half long nails that she had major difficulty working around and her long very curly hair was not tied back...both of which are health code violations. As she took our order she kept reaching up and flipping her hair away from her shoulders. For my order I told her that I wanted queso on my enchiladas instead of the other sauces. When she brought our order out, my enchiladas were covered in their normal sauces with queso on top of that. I didn't bother to send them back because our server was too busy talking to her friend to deal with us. We asked her for more chips and salsa and were told that the chips were not in the warmer any longer so they would be cold. We told her that was fine, it didn't matter if they were warm or not. She walked away and we assumed she was going to get what we asked for. Nope! I looked over and she was talking with a co-worker and counting money that she had pulled out of her apron. After that, without washing her hands after handling money, she picked up a big stack of plates and proceeded to put the plates on various tables throughout the restaurant. We never received the chips and salsa that we asked for. I gave this visit 2 stars for one reason and that's because the food is good. We were extremely disappointed in this visit and it makes us re-think if we should eat hear again when we come to Branson and if we should continue to recommend this restaurant to...
Read moreMeh. Not sure what’s up with this weird craft single American style cheese sauce that they have. It didn’t exactly make it feel authentic. Everything else seems great except for the portion size is sucked for the price and it’s not like at San Diego or anything. We had a chimichanga. We ordered chicken and got beef. Luckily, I didn’t realize until I was 2 1/2 bites into it and they replaced it within three or four minutes, which wasn’t bad for a mixup. We ate at the bar, which I feel is probably the better scene. Their patio looks intriguing but there’s absolutely nothing on it…. I’d throw a couple of the stand up heaters and some talavera outside. The tortilla chips have a 4-star light crispy crunch and their salsa is also fabulous but I would write a four-star. It could use a little more cilantro. However, all in all it was OK. I haven’t found any good Mexican food around here for two states and it seems like all the authentic families are being insulted with this American cheese sauce. Crap, that no one seems to notice on the side of the nation. I got to tell you though that American cheese sauce crap is so weird it feels like it’s genetically engineered or just right out of one of them plastic wraps… It just makes everything, so Wal-Mart you know what I mean. You know on another note. If you’re going for a quick couple of street tacos we did find that the little restaurant called Arandas kicks butt. It’s like a little sit down Taqueria. They have a lot more tomatillo sauce is in that place, but I feel like nobody respects the avocado anymore everywhere around here… maybe it’s just because...
