Tea Garden — Restaurant in Braselton

I will start with the caveat that my review may be biased because I actually work there (The fast and friendly delivery mentioned below) but I can say that I have eaten here for years and I eat the food here frequently, which, for those of you that have worked in the food industry, is a very positive thing as I get to see how to food is prepared and all the behind-the-scenes action and I can attest that it is very up to standard. I've pretty much tried everything on the menu and was never disappointed with the quality, although some dishes were not to my taste. I will say that there are at any time 2-3 different chefs working and each one has slight variations on the recipes for our dishes and if something comes out a little off (The most common complaint I have had was some dishes were more greasy than other times) you can always have this rectified in the next order. One of the worst Chinese/Thai restaurants ive ever been to in my life. We started with egg rolls to and you can always judge a Chinese restaurant based on the quality and flavor of their them. We should have known it was only going to go down from there with how awful they were, but we stuck it out. I got the Schezun (sp) chicken and my husband got the Kung Pow. Both are chicken was slimy, chewy, and rubbery. VERY RUBBERY. Was not quality chicken by any means. My lo mein was like angel hair pasta and very plain. His fried rice was just unlike anything we've ever tasted....how can someone make fried rice bad??? We took one bite and asked if we could just get his meal taken off instead of both (trying to be nice and pay for mine even though I wasn't going to eat it) but she said no. Not from the area but have eaten here a couple of times before. Ordered takeout through the website and made sure to not check the 'skip utensils' option. Got back to eat and: 1) no utensils, so I could not, plus, 2) chicken satay was like none I have ever seen - huge amount of sticky brown sauce (???) leaked all over everything else in the bag. Clamshell styrofoam was clearly the wrong container for that dish. Went back to the restaurant to inquire about utensils, and it was explained to me that they always include utensils for lunch but never for dinner unless the customer asks - and that I should know this already. Lady, I just want to be able to eat my food. Blatantly ignoring the information provided by your ordering website and blaming the customer is way off base.
