California Pizza Kitchen At Brea — Restaurant in Brea

Corporate CPK..please read this. We were seated and waited about 5min before a server came to us to explain that he is not our server but will take our drink order before he goes on break. After another 5 min he comes with our drinks and tells us that one more drink is still being made by the bartendar. We asked if we can put our food order in and he tells us he cant put it in but will give our order to our server. We asked who/where our server is and he says he has 8 tables and is busy. His name is Oscar. Ten minutes later no drink and no server. I go to see the manager Brandon who doesnt really do anything other than bring us bread, go to check on the drink order from the bar, and then come and take our order. Nothing that he said made us feel that this place was deserving of our business. We finally meet with Oscar who gives some story about how he was the behind the scenes taking care of our order but just didnt have time to come and address us. He made a comment about how customers really dont care about who the server is and just get the order in. We were saying but we do care who our server is. We get food and ask for some bread. He tells us it's in the oven and guess what..we never get the bread. He gives us the bill and I tell him he can cancel the bread and he smirks. They didnt comp one item from the bill..not even the drink from the bar that took ten minutes. Brandon never came by to give a sincere apology or check on us. He needs a new job. Horrible manager with no idea how to run that place. In case corporate dont read this I'll be sure to mail a letter. This is an upscale Brea area and the service is not worthy of the area. I suggest the shoppers eating at the sushi...

To start, the place was HOT and smelled awful. We asked to be seated outside since it was nice out. We were greeted by our server, placed our drink order and our food order. Food came out and my pizza was not hot let alone warm. An error with my fiancés meal was caught and was rectified. Our server (who was so sweet) told us the manager was going to comp that meal for us and apologized. She then went to check the drink I ordered and brought it out, apologizing that the kitchen was backed up. It took a bit of time to bring out the bill due to the manager needing to adjust it. When it came out, there was no adjustment. We didn’t alert anyone as we ate the meal and didn’t ask for it to be comped but the manager had said it would be adjusted and it wasn’t which made us a bit annoyed. We paid the bill and I only received the customer copy so I had to fill in tip on the one receipt available and was without one to take home. Also, no toilet paper in the women’s restroom.

Why didn’t I bring this to the attention of our server? It seemed like many things were working against her. She was running out to deal with to go orders and was apologizing for the kitchen, the bar, etc. She was so sweet and was handling everything like a champ but we will not...

After a long day of taking my niece school shopping, I decided to put my name on the list to be seated. The host said 15 minutes, so we walked downstairs to go pick up our clothes from a store and they ended up taking too long, came back and the host said we missed our names being called at CPK and they had to put us at the end of the line. (Back in the day they used to give us vibrators so we know to come back, but maybe they stopped b/c of Covid) Anyway, We were so hungry and tired, we didn't want to wait another 30 minutes and it was just us two. The lady wasn't trying to help us so a male host came and I told him our situation and he talked to the lady host and they were able to find us a spot right away. (Being nice has its benefits) So CPK isn't as amazing as I remember, but it's still ok. We had the spinach artichoke dip, Szechwan Chicken Dumpling, Classic Chicken Caesar Salad, Barbecue Chicken Pizza, and for a drink I had the Watermelon Sangria.
