Great hotel for families! We are a family of 6 and absolutely need the space and privacy options offered in their one bedroom suites. Our 4 kids normally take up beds in the bedroom, but we get a little privacy on the sofa bed in the main room (sort of like a studio) with the bedroom door offering us a private space away from the kiddos. I only wish the sofa bed was more comfortable. I was okay during our week long stay, but my husband was uncomfortable. Unfortunately, the sofa bed area/room is the only way we could have our own private area away from the kids, so he had to push through. Other than that, the rooms were perfect, clean, and welcoming. There was plenty of space to store luggage for our 6 people, and they have a nice sized table for our homeschool studies.
They do have a small fridge with an even smaller freezer inside (fits two frozen dinner plates - out of their boxes). The mini fridge had enough space for very few (and small) groceries. I think I remember fitting in a gallon of milk, strawberries, applesauce pouches, string cheese, Lunchables, and other smaller snacks / meal options.
What really sets this hotel apart from others is its location! It is within walking distance of many shops and resturants including the Brea Mall and a Target. The mall is within the same parking area (only needs to cross a "mall" street), and the Target is across a city street, but you can walk to both in under 5 minutes. There is also a salon & some sort of children's play area business that is also near the entrance to the hotel and is also accessible through the hotel's parking garage.
If you don't want to walk, they do have two levels of parking under the hotel, which makes it super easy to unload luggage and take the elevator straight up to your floor. The lower level often has more parking available, but it was never too difficult to find parking near an elevator. There is, however, parking fees at this location.
They also offer complimentary breakfast that has included omelets, french toast, pancakes, and more! I never got up early enough, but my husband enjoyed them while the kids and I had breakfast later in the day at one of the many restaurants nearby. They also offer snacks and drinks in the evening. Very healthy snack offerings (veggies and pretzels/nuts) along with drinks and sodas from the bar. The kids did enjoy sitting down together by the water during snack time. The hotel itself has a gym, pool, and hot tub. There is only an outdoor pool, but there is a lot of shade out there. However, the shade comes with a lot of leaves that end up in the pool and seating areas. We didn't use the gym, but I was able to get photos of it since it was the pathway out to the pool. There is also a mini convenience store in the lobby where you can easily use the self check out (even processes room charges). I also saw a restaurant near the lobby, but we didn't get a chance to try it out on this trip.
While the staff were amazing and everyone was very nice, they did take a bit to respond to some housekeeping requests and didn't come up to clean the room when we asked them to during a day we had planned to out. We usually sleep too late for the daily housekeeping, so we normally plan a day in the middle of the trip for a full housekeeping reset, so it can get really uncomfortable if this doesn't happen. But overall, we really enjoyed our stay.
We are in the process of selling our house, so this was more like a staycation rather than a vacation. Because we were mostly relaxing at the hotel, I didn't explore the area enough to recommend much. I do however think this hotel is perfect for families (or those needing some privacy during their trip) and for those who don't want to travel too far from the hotel, but still like to have the option to walk around and explore nearby shops...
Read moreMy wife and I checked in on Friday and checked out today. Upon entering our room it was humid with an odd odor. We figured it was because the tub/shower was leaking. We tried to get the water to stop dripping but were unsuccessful. We figured we could enjoy our stay by keeping the bathroom door closed to mute the drip. After turning the heat on to warm the room becausethe thermostat was set for 65 degrees. (which literally took 3 hours to to get the temperature to 70 degrees) my wife began coughing every few minutes. We figured it was her asthma used medication and she was able to sleep off and on as she had to use her inhaler several times throughout the night. The next morning we showered and prepared to leave for the event that brought us to town. After we opened the curtains to let some natural light into the room we became immediately disgusted when we discovered black mold all around and on the balcony window in the bedroom(which is locked closed so occupants cannot open it). We packed our bags in preparation for a room change and stopped at the front desk. We informed the clerk of the situation and that we would like to change rooms. She said that she would need to have an engineer look at it before that could be done. I stated that we had an engagement and could not wait long. After a few minutes we let her know that we had to depart and our bags were ready to be transferred if necessary and I could be contacted at the number on file(this was at 11AM). I never received a call, text or communication via the Hilton App. Upon returning that evening we stopped at the front desk and and informed the clerk of the details and told me that we couldn't change rooms because they were sold out and that the engineer had cleaned of the mold and sanitized the area. I explained that was not what we desired when we brought our concerns to the front desk in the morning due to my wife's breathing issue the previous night. He stated that there was nothing he could do and that his notes read the mold was removed and sanitized. Not at all what we wanted but we figured we would have to make do and at least it was cleaned and removed.
We ended up sleeping on the sofa pull-out bed in the front room because while they cleaned the upper and sides of the sliding door they didn't clean anywhere on the bottom. I should also mention the white stains all over the sofa cushions. The thoughts of what the stains could have been left us sleeping in our clothes on the uncomfortable pull-out mattress.
This was the worst experience by far staying at a Hilton family hotel. The cleanliness of the room falls far below the Hilton standards and needs to be addressed. The reactions from both front desk clerks we interacted with lead me to believe that this isn't the first mold incident. I'm attaching pictures of how the room looked after the engineer removed the mold, mold found above bathroom door and the mystery stains on the sofa cushions.
Thank you for your attention to this matter and look forward to a communication from someone.

Read moreBe cautious if you travel with an emotional support pet, the hotel doesn’t respect it as necessary. I had been denied access to my emotional support animal that I had left in my paid room to quickly update my keycard by an inconsiderate and rude desk agent. Usually you hand the agent your room key, provide your room number and your name associated with the account. This didn’t satisfy the agent and she requested my id. No problem. I offered to have me escorted to my room since my dog was up there anyways and show my id. Again she declined. I was literally trapped in the lobby pleading and crying for my emotional support animal and no one from the hotel would help. No manager or supervisor ever attempt to mediate or intervene. I didn’t threaten anyone or cause property damage. I was trespassed by Brea PD at the request of the hotel. To date, the hotel has never reached out and kept the charge for the extra night. The incident had occurred on Wednesday and I had been at the hotel with no issues since that prior Monday. I had been a guest there prior on multiple occasions with no incident or problems. There was no issue with payment. The hotel was advised I suffered from social anxiety and PTSD at the time of booking my stay. I would hate for someone else to suffer the same traumatic experience. To all my fellow survivors, be cautious where you travel with your emotional support pet, make sure the business respects your pets’ service that it provides you and stay safe.
Update: The fact that you are altering the narrative of what occurred is astounding and adding insult to injury. You should have been careful of the false depiction of what occurred because there were definitely a lot of guest and workers that witness the events that unfolded. It is not reasonable that you deny I offered to show my ID which was in my room where my emotional support dog was located! It was exactly where I wanted to go!! Also, again many witnesses that are not biased whom can recall me repeatedly asking for dog, offering to show my id and offering to leave once allowed to access my paid room. If you were all trying to help then why not take me to my dog in my room and have me wait for the police? Wouldn’t that have been safer for all? If I had been begging for heart medication, would you have taken the...
