This is a first time, first impressions review. If you live locally or even visiting and crave the atmosphere of a welcoming down to earth spot to either relax with very unique and delicious flavors or a meet up with friends this is it, no more big chain coffee shops for me. They really live up to their name in that from the events posted on the door, to the board games, you can feel that this place wants to be a fun welcoming community. They even have introduction cards for the Baristas and the owner which was adorable [no pictures of that tho thats something you can go see for yourself :)] They also have a little spot for kids to play [see pics]. What I also learned that makes this places even more wholesome is the owner of this shop, their Husband, is the owner of the hobby/board game shop near by [hence the picture I have of the sign for the coffee shop in front of the hobby shop, for a nerd like me what a perfect combo!] But that's just the atmosphere, the drinks/food is a whole other amazing feat. So as for the drinks, I ordered them as they are on the menu to get first impressoins, however they seem very accommodating to taste, from the questions and options they offered while I was ordering, to the list of organic syrups posted mutiple places in the shop. This place has wonderfully unique options like BLACKBERRY COLD FOAM!!! [Tho it might be a seasonal flavor but don't quote me on that one] I did get to try it [see the top of the green Macha drink in my pictures.] The flavor was used well, you can tell they know what they're doing. I got a latte and tea, while one person with me got the matcha drink mentioned above and another tried a children's drink on the menu which they very much enjoyed. A very neat detail about the teas is on the menu, and they will let you know when you order is that it will be a five minute wait becuase they freshly brew the tea to order. But with the wonderful atmosphere the wait won't be noticed much. I personally don't have much of a sweet tooth so their peach bloom was wonderfully refreshing and exactly what it sounds like a fresh brewed tea with the essence of peach, but don't worry for all the sweet tooths out there they have plenty of options to sweeten it up and I was offered to take a sip and then add sweetness if I wanted but personally I enjoyed it as is. The latte was also just as described a nutty pecan with a pleasantly salty cold foam, again they know what they're doing and the salt and nut to me were well balanced. As for food I have not tired much but the coconut macadamia nut cookie was great and I saw an ube cookie I'm super excited to try! The last little tidbit I'll say is that if you look at my pictures the bathroom sign added even more wonderful charm to the place, honestly there is allot of fun persnallity in several of the pics I took. All in all I encourage anyone who enjoys a coffee/tea or a good place to hang for a bit, to please give this place a try, you can feel good knowing your helping a local welcoming good all around vibes kind of place.

Service was really, really good. The barista who took our order was very determined to give us drinks that we would like, asking questions like, "What is your flavor profile? What types of flavors do you really like?" He was so great and very nice and patient. I liked him a lot. The shop was cute, pretty minimalistic and clean/uncluttered. My daughter bought a plant from one of the sellers they had featured in the shop. I don't prefer mass produced syrups but the barista said that they purchase all those syrups from one small company in up north in the US that made them clean without garbage and unnecessary additives. Was it true? I don't know but I took his word for it. We both ordered our drinks half sweet but it turns out that their drinks are already not overly sweet, so we could've done with more sugar. My daughter ended up having them add more while I left mine alone. I ordered mine with a salted cold foam that was pretty disappointing. I felt like it needed to be thicker in texture and saltier. My daughter loves matcha, like the legit grassy matcha flavors. She ordered a matcha latte with oat milk but when it came out, she and I both looked at it with a grimace. She immediately said to me, "Yeah, that color? That's going to be a problem ..." It was so pale, you already knew by eyeballing it that the matcha flavor would be really mild and dilute-- and it was. It overwhelmingly tasted like oat milk with just a hint of matcha. I told her to tell them to remake it but she refused because she doesn't like wasting food. We really wanted to like it because the barista was just so nice and it was a coffee place really close to her work place but I'm not sure we'll try it again.

I’ve been coming to Communitea since they opened, and it’s still one of my favorite local gems. Their seasonal offerings are always fun and creative- hello, Cherry Bomb! Some of my favorites so far: the Spanish Latte, Cardamom Rose Tea Latte, Blackberry Honey Buzz Shaken Espresso, and anything seasonal with ceremonial matcha. One of the best things about this place is how customizable the drinks are. They have a huge variety of organic syrups and milk alternatives (oat and almond included), so you can really make any drink your own. I’ve even gotten my brother and my hairdresser hooked on Communitea! Beyond great drinks, they also host fun events like book clubs, art workshops, and pop-ups. Board games available for anyone who wants to hang out. It’s also a super kid-friendly space, which sets it apart from other coffee shops. That being said, if you’re someone who’s easily overstimulated or trying to get work done, I recommend noise-cancelling headphones or heading to the patio for a quieter vibe. The owner is incredibly kind, and sometimes her daughter helps out behind the counter, which just adds to the warm, family-run charm of the place. It really lives up to its name- Communitea is more than a coffee shop, it’s a cozy little community. Be sure to follow their IG to stay in the loop about upcoming events!
