My grandma loves this restaurant. I’ve never been a fan. The pizza sauce is like watered down tomato sauce in my opinion, but then again I’m from St. Louis. People from Tinley Park love this place. Ed & Joes has been around since probably I was born, so maybe people in Tinley don’t know any better. My grandma used to live in the little yellow house right next door, for years, probably decades, so Lord knows I’ve suffered through enough Ed and Joes.
My real issue is with their email promos and coupons. Since I live in St. Louis and my grandma lives in Tinley, I purchased a gift card. Then, I was pleasantly surprised to get coupons via email, which I was thrilled to use to buy my grandma lunch to have delivered since she’s 98 and can’t drive.
Unfortunately, all three discount codes I’ve been sent have never worked for online ordering, despite Ed and Joes explicit statements they were good for online ordering. Then, today, I received an email stating if you buy a “gourmet” pizza, you can get a large house salad free…once again just untrue advertising…if you bought ONLY a gyro or taco pizza, then I guess you could get a free large house salad. And probably then it wouldn’t work online.
Oh well, I will never order from here again for my grandma unless I’m visiting Tinley. And even then, I doubt I’ll return. I’m sick of paying outrageous prices for watered down tomato sauce.
Since all of Tinley is obsessed with this place, I know me not eating here won’t hurt their business. I’m a much bigger fan of Mickey’s, Porillo’s, Chen’s, Union Bar, Bailey’s, Frankie’s, Gatto’s, Rubino’s…and don’t forget about Bogarts that used to be right across the street from Ed & Joe’s and my grandma’s house! I love all these places! Happy to finally have plenty of good reasons to never eat at Ed& Joe’s again. Maybe I was a jerk for not tipping this last time, but honestly, screw you guys…what a joke. I’m sure you as a whole company can scrounge up $5 to tip the driver who delivered pizza to my grandma’s apartment that’s literally a half a mile...
Read moreEd and Joe’s, A few weeks back my sister and brother-in-law came to visit my wife and I in Juneau, AK. They asked if there was anything I wanted from Tinley Park. I said yeah, if you can bring me up an Ed and Joes pizza that we be great! I was born and raised in Tinley and good pizza is something I really miss. Ed & Joes is the pizza I grew up on and what I think of when the word pizza is said. I have lived in Alaska and the West Coast for the past 40 years, and it is near impossible to find a pizza that is worth eating. Alaska has a lot to offer in food and drink. Fresh fish, crab, and local beers plus mother nature. But what it really cannot offer is world class pizza. That you need to do by making a pilgrimage. When I visit home, Ed and Joe’s is always on the list at least once during the visit. Frozen Pizza: So MaryBeth and Al showed up in Juneau. When I picked them up at the airport they only had two bags and one big box. To my surprise there was not one pizza but five pies inside the box, frozen solid and ready to bake. It was late when the got here, so first night was a salmon dish for a late dinner. The next night we had the first pizza, green olives, pepperoni, and sausage. It was delicious, even as a frozen pizza it was better than any pizza offering in Juneau. As of now I have eaten four of the five pies. Last night I baked the pie on my pellet BBQ. That was the best. Thank you for preparing the pies for me and thanks to Al and Marybeth for bringing them 3000 miles to Juneau, AK. Ed and Joes is still my favorite pizza ever, I wish you best and I will stop next time I’m back in Tinley Park. Yes, I will be placing a long distant order again. Cheers, Paul...

The hostess was so rude We had called 10 minutes before since we knew it was going to be busy They said they weren’t taking reservations because it was going to be busy for tree lighting We said we were 10 minutes away andwas told it wouldn’t be a problem to get table for 4 When we got there hostess said there were no available table We said no problem we would wait at bar There was no one else waiting for a table ahead of us I asked if we could give our name since it was first come but she said she wasn’t taking any names and it would be at least 3 hrs I asked if anyone else was waiting and she no I said I was sure someone would be leaving soon Again she said no one would be leaving for at least 3 hrs We sat at bar and not 5 minutes later she sat the next group of 4 within a couple of minutes Then another hostess started taking names and sitting people as tables became available This is the first time I have ever felt I needed to put a review about anywhere but this treatment was so rude and bizarre I had to comment Have to say bartenders were great and food good but sitting by the door at a bar to eat with my parents in their 80’s wasn’t the greatest but we made the best of it That is why I am giving 1 star and won’t be back...
