I stood at the bar waiting to order a drink. There were 2 bartenders working the bar. The bartenders ignored me numerous times. I was patient and figured they're just finishing up some drink orders and will get me after. But apparently that wasn't the case. As I'm waiting at the bar, with no one around me and only a dozen or so people total in the whole place, these bartenders actually served 3 different people that stepped up to the bar after me. After about 5 minutes or so of waiting, trying to get these girls attention, putting my hand up to signal I'm trying to order without being rude and yelling at them, I look over to the guy working, guessing the manager, like what the hell man? He did try getting the girls attention like hey, serve this guy. Why are you ignoring him? But by then I was super irratated and said forget it and left. I was gonna be ordering my first drink so it's not like I stiffed them on a tip or anything and I was polite and patient the whole time and it was my first time at this bar. Once I seen them serve the 3 guys that came after me I was pretty reasonably upset and these guys didn't yell to these bartenders to get thier attention. They did exactly what I did, stood at the counter and gave a little hand signal. I never, ever play the race card but I still can't see any reason why they ignored and didn't serve me. The 3 guys that came after me were all white and I was the only person of color there. I wasn't dressed like a hoodlum or being rude or ignorant in anyway. I really don't wanna make any accusations but I still seriously can't think of any other reason why they willfully ignored me. It didn't make any sense. I was standing close to the counter and they walked past me multiple times. The whole experience just left me so bewildered and upset. I don't like writing negative reviews. I've worked in the service and retail industry so I know what it's like and I'm super understanding because of that. I know that customers can be a pain in the a** sometimes. That's why I go out of my way to be polite, respectful, and patient. The way I was treated was not an accident. I know that if I was the owner of this bar I'd be really disappointed that any of my customers were treated this way. I will not be coming back again. If you do decide to patronize this business, then I genuinely hope you're treated...
Read moreOut with the old, in with the new. The transformation is not just amazing, but the Guinness is poured and served better than any Chicagoland Irish pub (yes better than Fados and Gaelic Park. New soft opening si let’s hope they continue with clean line authentic Pimt of Guinness (time will tell as they get much busier). Waitress knew her Guinness and was second to none!!! Atmosphere was exactly like being in a Co Mayo pub, just amazing transformation. Big question is in any soft opening l, can they continue this? I worry. But for now you will not find a more true Irish pub anywhere (in my 35 years of going to Ireland every year) in Chicago & Chicagoland that beats this places pint of the black stuff. Enjoy and Slainte!! Owners don’t let the bartenders slip on how to pour a proper pint: amazing start!!!! Last but not least Alex the Pub (not bar) manager rocked! Took time to talk for more time than I should have kept him. ...
Read moreMy husband and I walked in to order a few drinks on a Saturday evening around 6-7pm. The bar was full except one barstool, so we sat at a table. All of the tables were empty, there were no servers, and just one bartender. I didn't really understand if maybe we'd only be served if we were at the bar? We were not informed since this was our first time walking in. We sat there for a good 20 minutes and the Bartender did not even acknowledge us. He could have said "hey, come to the bar if you want to get served" but he said nothing. Not sure what we were really supposed to do at that point so we just left....
