After an acquaintance recommended Authentic Taste of India to us, my hubby and I decided to visit this fabulous Indian restaurant. Since we love Indian food, we were quite excited and hopeful for a great experience.
The restaurant's location is not a place I frequent; in fact, I never drive in the area. However, we found it easily, parked the car, and walked inside. To our surprise, there were already four or five tables filled with customers at 4 PM. Which is usually a good sign.
We settled into the cozy back room, that had tables with chairs. I have to admit, booths aren’t really my favorite. Being on the shorter side, I tend to sink down and end up with the table right at neck level, which can be pretty awkward eating!
The server provided us with menus and water, and we browsed through many enticing options. Honestly, We had a hard time deciding. While I usually choose a vegetarian dish, I decided on a chicken entree this time.
Our order consisted of Veggie Samosa, Garlic Naan, Chicken Korma, Chili Chicken, and Basmati Rice. I ordered the Chili Chicken, hubby ordered the Chicken Korma and we shared everything including the veggie samosa and garlic naan.
My Chili Chicken consisted of chicken pieces stir-fried with onions and bell peppers, then marinated in soy sauce and tossed with ginger, chili, and garlic seasoning. It wasn't saucy; instead, the flavors were cooked into the chicken, giving it a slightly crunchy outer texture. We both found it delightful and full of flavor, and I found it difficult not to overindulge because it was so good!
My husband ordered the Chicken Korma, and it was amazing! The dish had these juicy chunks of chicken cooked in this incredible sauce made with yogurt, nuts, cardamom, cinnamon, and cloves. Honestly, the sauce was so good you could serve it by itself, and people would go wild for it. If they bottled this sauce, they’d make a killing – it was that great! Yes, we both found it amazing!
We both thoroughly enjoyed the basmati rice garlic naan and veggie samosa that paired perfectly with two incredible dipping sauces. The best part? tasty but they were not greasy at all, leaving our fingers spotless. These dishes are a must-try!
The service was excellent, and our server was both friendly and attentive.
The restaurant had a welcoming atmosphere, with neatly arranged tables with white table cloths and clean floors that added to its overall cleanliness. Unfortunately, I didn't take the opportunity to visit the restroom area during my meal, but I plan to check it out on our next visit to ensure that it maintains the same high standards as the dining area.
Remember, you can choose your heat level. If you prefer no heat, that's perfectly fine!
Ample flat parking is available since the restaurant has its own lot. Please note that Kitsap Way can be extremely congested at times.
You can find the Authentic Taste of India at 3329 Kitsap Way in West Bremerton, WA. Nearby businesses include Taco Bell, located across Kitsap Way, Shur-Kleen Car Wash, and Bay Street Coffee Company.
It's not often that I give a perfect five-star rating, but I’m doing it this time! Unless Authentic Taste of India changes my mind on my next visit, I would definitely suggest this restaurant to anyone looking for great food.

Read moreWife and I visited this during lunch hours and upon entering was a very pleasant and distinguished themed restaurant. The flintlock pistol framed was a unique touch.
Food: Wife got the SMOKED butter chicken and I got the Goat Rogan Josh and shared an order of garlic naan.
The delightful and savory spiced goat Rogan Josh was very savory and splendidly spiced with nice aromatic taste. Just beautifully tasted wonderful.
The smoked butter chicken was your traditional butter chicken, just tasting BETTER. I highly recommend this and the Goat Rogan Josh.
The garlic Naan bread has a nice crisp factor to it and very neat touch of garlic that blasts in your mouth. I do recommend you DIP these suckers into your curry/entree/sauce because it's just that amazing.
The complimentary samosas they offer for their grand opening was also wonderful. A nice crispy outside and savory, well spiced, soft filling.
Drinks: we did order chai tea as well, does come unsweetened and they offered regular sugar and sugar substitute. Honestly, one packet of sugar substitute is all you need to get the right taste of your traditional Indian Chai tea.
Dessert: we got the mango mousse and kheer (rice pudding). Each were very flavorful and a great way to end your meal. Mango mousse was nice and soft that easily melts in your mouth with a strong sweet mango taste.
The rice pudding was my favorite and WAS NOT as milky or wet than what I experienced. It's a great, not too thick texture that has a nice milky, sweet, and some of the indian spices to taste.
Overall, this is your new up and coming Indian restaurant that offers a unique dining experience with wonderful flavors to try and taste. A very Authentic Taste of India indeed. Wake up Kitsap! Give this...
Read moreWe've driven past this place since they opened and it's always looking busy so we finally decided to try it out, we ordered online to take home, arrived when the order said it was ready, walked inside. The inside of the establishment is very nice! Beautiful interior decor. The service was quick and prompt. We've took our order back home (about a 4 minute drive) we ordered Mango Lassi, Butter Chicken, Chicken Curry, Chicken Briyani, and of course Garlic Naan. The Garlic Naan, Briyani, and Butter Chicken were very good! Full of flavor. The chicken curry was not what we thought it was (user error, not the restaurants fault for that!) Still was good, just not alot of Chicken in the dish itself. The mango lassi wasn't as cold as we would have liked, but had good flavor just a bit too warm. Across the board the chicken was a tinge dry, but we did take ours to go, so we won't hold that against them. We would definitely try again while...
