My husband went here to buy me an almond croissant, and bought it as well as cinnamon raisin pastry, a Raspberry Cheese Danish, and a coconut Tart. I didn't see them until we got home, assuming a french pastry bakery would make the tastiest, layers of pastry. Everything was burned in parts of each pastry. The pastries were of more of a bread consistency, then layered as a pastry should be. The tart crust was burned on one side, the top, and the bottom was burned and looked like some of the crust in the middle portion had stuck to the tart tray it was cooked in/on. Tried a taste of the coconut tart in the middle and could hardly detect any coconut in the bread consistency of the tart. There was no taste to the almond croissant and it was ridiculously hard on the outside where it was burned on both ends and on top. There were only about five burned almonds on it. Most of the food was thrown out. We will not...

We came across this place a year or so ago, and we love to recommend it. The coffee is real coffee and DELICIOUS. The sandwiches....omg. The best BLT around. When I'm craving a good blt, this is where I get it from. I love that they have so many desserts with fruit in them! I'm not a huge fan of chocolate, since most chocolate tastes heavily of chemicals. We don't mind that they close early sometimes because they're not getting enough business to economically justify staying open. They closed their other location, but I REALLY hope they don't close this one. You don't find enough small, relaxed Mom and Pop Cafe-style places here in the Bay Area anymore. Everyone is trying too hard, offering the same things, with the same decor. Seriously, give this place a real chance, don't let it die out....

We tried them first at the Brentwood Farmer’s Market. It was so gooood I need them the next day! They are NOT located beside AMC at the Streets of Brentwood anymore like in one of the photos here. Rather, they’re in outlet at the intersection of Brentwood and Nancy.
Try their brownie with walnuts! My partner doesn’t like brownies but Doré’s was so good that when I bought two for myseld she asked if she could have an entire one for herself! Another immediate favorite was the croissant with almonds, chocolate, and banana. We’re still trying to go through their entire selection because everything is so delicious. If you wanted something specific and the shelf at the front is empty you can ask if they have some more available at the back. They usually do!
This is a hidden gem in Brentwood but it’s so good it shouldn’t be hidden at all! Gotta share the deliciousness...
