French toast is not sliced bread but rather French bread that has a bit of cinnamon and sugar. Most is bread and flavorless. Hash was slightly burnt. Waffle and pancake was ok. My bill was over 80$ because they dont allow you to substitute meat for hash in the meals so i had to order everything seperately (so too bad vegetarians). Servers looked annoyed. I always tip...20%at least but the lack of attention and the bare minumum service i didnt this time and dont plan on dropping by anytime soon. Also their "menu" on google maps is probably 5 years or older since their prices are way higher. I dont mind paying cuz of inflation but at least update your info so people arent misinformed. One of the servers with brownish hair was nice and sweet but unfortunately we didnt get her as a server. I got the black hair server. She needs a day off or two. Handed them $100 with bill and they took it and laid it on the table...waited an extra 10 minutes before i figured out you pay up in front of the cafe. Wouldve been nice to be told that. Again, paid $80 for enough food for 3 people. insanity.

MJ's is located in the downtown area of Brentwood. The place is not that big. They offer breakfast and lunch menu and closes at 3pm. I guess you can call it brunch. I've never eaten here before but the pictures looked great. My friend ordered the Texas style French toast with bacon and eggs. I ordered Joe’s special. It was an omelette that had ground beef, mushrooms, spinach, and onions I think. My friend loved her French toast and cleaned her plate. Mine was good but it was a little bland for my taste. We also ordered a side of biscuit and gravy. The gravy was good but the biscuit was dry….we ordered extra gravy. Overall it was ok. The service was great. We didn’t have to wait very long to get seated and the food came fast. Oh I almost forgot they do have dessert and pastry.

It was my first visit at MJ's Downtown Cafe. It's a quaint spot in downtown Brentwood. The restaurant was full; we may have waited 20 minutes. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I ordered a chicken and mushroom omelet with country potatoes and sourdough toast. It was good; a standard breakfast plate. Upon leaving, I noticed the case of breakfast pastries and cakes. I ordered the cherry cream cheese danish. THAT was spectacular! The danish was sweet and buttery. The cream cheese and cherries were a perfect addition. I enjoyed my experience and will return.

The food here was quite good, but the service was some of the worst I have had. My wife, and three young children visited during lunch. The establishment was busy, but not insanely packed. The hostess was friendly and we were sat within 15 mins. A waitress checked in for our drink order, which was promptly brought out. She also provided refills before a different waiter came to take our food order. This gentlemen had an off tone from the start, but I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt. The entire experience with him was very poor. We waited longer than expected for our food, but everything came out fine. He repeatedly seemed to ignore our table and even walked right by me as I was trying to get his attention on several occasions. My wife had to actually go up to the breakfast bar for refills. This did not improve any response from him. He only checked in to ask if we wanted boxes. When we received the check, my wife saw there was a misunderstanding on the price for the biscuits. My wife ordered 4 biscuits, under what he told her was $3.25 (ish?). Turns out it was $3.25 for each, totally $13 for biscuits. Not that huge of a deal, but when my wife asked the waiter about the price, he cut her off and stated he was correct and told her that when she ordered. Some simple politeness would have been adequate. Having 3 young kids, we know that quite a mess can be made. We often do our best to clean and control it before leaving, and to make sure to tip for the trouble as well. Before we could leave the table, the waiter made a snide comment that was obviously loud enough for us to hear it about the table being messy. I bussed tables for 4 years when I was younger, so I am very empathetic to the job. This behavior was unprofessional by this waiter. That is all. I...

MJ’s has become a standout destination for those seeking not only outstanding food but also a dining experience that feels both personal and memorable. From the moment you walk through the door, it’s clear that this restaurant is dedicated to providing the best in every aspect: the quality of the food, the warmth of the service, and the inviting atmosphere. What truly sets MJ’s apart, however, is its service. From the moment you are greeted at the door, the staff goes above and beyond to ensure your experience is nothing short of spectacular. The waitstaff is knowledgeable, attentive, and friendly without being intrusive, offering suggestions when asked and ensuring that your needs are met promptly. The overall vibe is welcoming and professional, making diners feel like they’re not just customers but valued guests. The atmosphere at MJ’s is equally impressive. The restaurant strikes the perfect balance between elegance and comfort, creating an environment where you can relax and enjoy your meal without feeling rushed. The lighting, music, and decor all come together to form a cozy yet sophisticated ambiance that enhances the overall experience. Whether you’re there for a casual dinner with friends or a special celebration, the setting is always inviting and thoughtfully designed.

In conclusion, MJ’s is a restaurant that excels in every key area: incredible food, impeccable service, and a wonderful atmosphere. It’s a place where attention to detail makes all the difference, and it’s easy to see why it has become a beloved spot for so many. For those seeking a dining experience that checks all the boxes, MJ’s is the place to be. A shout out to Katie for the amazing service as my waitress on this...

I heard this was the best breakfast in town. So my wife and i finally go. Well, it was nice inside, and our waitress was good, but ive had better breakfasts at 7/11. Now I'll take some of the responsibility since i ordered a cinnamon roll($5+) and a yogurt parfait. My wife ordered a oatmeal combo that came with an egg and bacon, and it was good. My cinnamon roll was huge and the waitress must have piled on the frosting thinking it would make up for how dry and stale the roll was. I love frosting, but this was ridiculous. Im getting sick to my stomach as i write this, thats how bad it was. It had enough frosting for six cinnamon rolls, im not kidding. The yogurt parfait should have been called a granola parfait since it was mostly granola. They must have ran out of yogurt cuz there was a tablespoon of yogurt under i big pile of granola. They didnt skimp on the berries, and that was cool. I'm not saying that this place sucks. I'm sure that they serve killer breakfasts so please dont avoid this place just cuz i ordered wrong. But id think twice before you order the Cinnamon Roll from hell or the...
