Two months ago I called Big Mikes to inquire about catering a party I was having for my mothers 90th Birthday on April 23rd. Her favorite food is lasagna and I was told Mikes made a pan that would feed twenty people, to include salad and bread for $195.00 but it was to early to place the order. A month later I called again and was told it was still too early to place the order that they could only take the order two days in advance of the party but they would write it down for me. I would be flying in from Denver that day so that was the first thing on my agenda to get done. Rather than calling I went to the restaurant and was told that I could only place the order with Mike and he wasn't around at the moment, this was two in the afternoon. The encounter with the employee who was acting a little off was a bit uncomfortable and she made a comment that was a bit odd and if I remember correctly got the sense this catering deal wasn't going to happen, even after making several attempts to call and place the order. The employee did get Mike on the phone and he said he could not accommodate my request given there were one or two orders already in house. I was not very happy given I made two or three attempts to place this order, it was two days before the party and I had twenty five people attending. To make things worse there was no empathy from the employee or Mike, he was even asking me the name of the person that gave me this information, like this is my problem. I am not proud of my self but with his attitude and lack of empathy I hung up and walked out. I just couldn't believe a place of business would do this to a customer. I sure hope Mike trains his employees on all his processes around taking orders, especially catering and will allow people to place and order more than two days in advance when hosting a large party. Luckily i was able to find a place of business to accommodate me and the food was delicious and the party was a success, no thanks to Mike and...
Read moreOrdering from this place can be quite frustrating sometimes. It's hit or miss. My family enjoys the pizza from here (that's about all we order from here) when we dine in we will order garlic knots, which now are more like a dinner roll with oil and some garlic on them, wouldn't recommend. Used to be better. Our last experience there, my wife called in an order for 2 pepperoni and 1 cheese pizza. Were told it would take 30 minutes, I showed up 40 minutes later and waited another 10 before someone acknowledged I was standing there. Young lady, not sure what her name was said 5 more minutes. 10 minutes later and I was still waiting. She went back again, finally came back with the pizzas and the order was wrong. Got 2 cheese and 1 pepperoni. After finally getting her attention she took the pizza to the back, came back with the pizza. It was corrected however, when I got home and opened the box you could tell they through pepperoni on the pizza and covered it up with parmesan cheese to hide the fact that the pepperoni wasn't even cooked. It's starting to get frustrating going to this place considering what we spend on food there. Sometimes the pizza is overcooked and burn, sometimes under cooked and the crust is doughy. If there is an actual manager there, they need to get out of the damn office by the bathroom and do some quality control. You would think that they could at least make it right and give a discount or something for their mistake and having to wait over an hour. Hell, at least an apology would suffice. Not even sure they look or care about their reviews. Don't see any...
Read moreI arrived here eager and happy, but after being sat a member of the wait staff came up to my table (an interracial lesbian couple), and accused my African American partner of “holding”; suggesting that she was emitting some sort of obnoxious marijuana odor and that she had drugs in her possession. Which is absurd, because if there was such a smell then it would be on the both of us (having spent the day side by side and been sat together no more than a foot and a half apart), but as a white woman I received no such accusations. Not even a wayward glance. It was clearly nothing more than a nasty quip, made out of what I can only imagine is some sort of aimless spite; because if it were a real concern then I’m sure law enforcement would have been called upon, but no such thing occurred because it was obvious that the accusation was baseless and it would have been embarrassing for the police to find nothing amiss and out them for gross discrimination. The whole ordeal was so uncomfortable we left immediately. The disdainful, and blatantly racist attitude we received today will make certain we never come back here; which is a shame, because the food is great, but the experience was beyond soured by the grotesque staff interaction. Never before have we experienced such outright racial profiling to go so far as to suggest a person of color is a drug dealer. Abhorrent and completely...
