First time here and decided to stop by for dinner last night with my grandparents and brother. I got to try a loaded BBQ baked potato. Could taste the pork and the other toppings were delicious. For a loaded BBQ baked potato, it was pretty good. My grandparents got ribs and they could hardly taste them. They were described as being tasteless. If you're craving BBQ ribs, you may want to look elsewhere if you want flavorful ribs. I recommend the baked potato. My brother got the buffalo chicken sandwich, liked it just fine. Can't forget to add in that we got pork rinds as an appetizer. They are soooo good. If you like pork rinds, you must try them. Can't go wrong with pork rinds! I love them! They're like the pork rinds sold in stores but have that small flavor you will taste, just not as flavorful as those in the bag. Not the best food, but if you're looking for something good to eat in the area, (as we aren't from here) it's worth a try but remember, skip the ribs, unless you like tasteless ribs, but ribs aren't ribs without flavor. Not likely to come back here again.

We had high hopes for this establishment. Ready for some western NC barbecue. Ordered sweet tea (of course), took a sip and was unpleasantly surprised with the taste of some kind of chemical. Very frightening! Informed waitress who relayed problem to her manager. Waitress returned with her manager’s story that she had tasted it and someone had added salt instead of sugar. I’m telling you, it was not salt. Definitely some kind of cleaning agent. Gah! Still willing to give them the benefit of the doubt, ordered western barbecue which turned out to be their eastern barbecue with western sauce on top. Good grief. Texas Pete sauce on table was not what I am used to—not good at all. And NO red slaw at all! Didn’t even know what that is. Save yourself the trouble and don’t eat at this place.

I’ve seen this place 100x but always hit the food trucks since I’m having a post ride beer at the Hub anyway. Well, this weekend the food truck booked Friday had an issue and closed early so we finally tried Hawg Wild. I got the “pick 3 combo” with chopped pork, chopped brisket and ribs with fries, hush puppies and bbq beans as the sides. Everything was delicious and the portions were huge. It was 21$ but would easily feed 2. I had just finished a 30 mile MTB ride and still couldn’t finish it. I had lunch leftovers. Would have given 5 stars, but they don’t pull the rib membrane before cooking. Huge pet peeve of mine.

Just moved to Brevard back in January and this has become one of our favorite restaurants to eat at. In fact, we eat here so often that we consider ourselves "regulars" at this point. My only issue is that service is hit or miss. We have come in on some busy nights and still seated fairly quickly & received our order in a timely manner. There have been other nights where there weren't many customers, but had to wait quite a while for our drinks and food. There was a night that my order was wrong, but not to the point that it ruined my meal. Tonight we went and it was busy as expected on a Friday night. There was a hostess and she was trying her best with keeping up with things. We stood patiently waiting for a while. But, the entire time we stood there, nobody bothered greeting us, asking how many in our party, adding our name to the list, etc. When another party came in behind us, another staff member preceded to ask them those questions. When I attempted to point out that we were there first and have been waiting, she said "Oh. We'll be right with you" and went back to helping the other party. I assume she thought we were already on the list but we weren't and she wouldn't let me explain. She quickly walked off after helping the other party, who ended up being with another larger party already seated. After that, there were 3 staff members at the hostess station going over the seating chart, etc. Still no greeting, etc. Yet ANOTHER party walked in. They got the greeting, how many in your party, etc. My family still stood there without ANY acknowledgement. That was the point where we walked out. Doubt they even noticed. Basically, love the food, service is hit or miss but, most of the time, good. Please teach the staff to take a moment to LISTEN and also PAY ATTENTION to customers. I didn't mind waiting for a table. We were prepared for that. We weren't prepared for being ignored and simply brushed off when trying to point it out. We still plan on eating here often, but would like to see some consistency with...

We are locals who love to eat here. They have a variety of food that can please everyone in the family. Service is great, but sometimes gets bogged down because of the crowds. That's to be expected when you eat at a popular place. But the staff jump to help each other out and management pitches in when it's needed.

They have live music performed by locals on Friday nights. It's usually pretty good, but not so loud you can't have a conversation.

Love their BBQ, pretty good ribs, and I have two favs - the Greek grilled chicken salad, and when I want comfort food, their loaded baked potato with BBQ is the way to go! Now, I like "hot", so I always ask for the "hot" sauce from the kitchen. It's really just a bit too hot for comfort, but I mix it with their regular sauce to get that flavor I'm looking for with a little less 🔥 burn. Also, if you're not into butter spreads, ask your waitress for some real butter.

They have country-cooked sides and some of the best fries around. Great burgers, slaw, and hushpuppies, too. And please . . . leave room for some great, homemade cobbler! My husband never leaves without some blackberry or cherry cobbler topped with ice cream for dessert! Tasty, but not too sweet. Just right!

It's always clean, with well-maintained bathrooms, and now they've added another room with a bar to handle large groups and peak times overflow.

I don't think you can lose by taking the family to this wonderful place for some good eats! And say hello to the manager, Jonathan. He knows his stuff and if there's a question about anything, he'll fix it right up for you. If it's not too busy, he's always ready for a friendly chat.

Go Hawg...

Maybe I caught them on an off day? I was pretty excited to try this place because of all the great reviews. I just picked up takeout to bring back to my hotel. The gal that took my order on the phone was super friendly and answered a couple questions for me. When I arrived to pick up my order there were three girls at the takeout stand and none of them even acknowledged me standing there. They all walked off and about a minute later a different person came over and got my order. Before I left, I checked my bag and realized they forgot my coleslaw, butter, and sour cream. I went back inside and the girl was very apologetic and got those for me. When I got back to my hotel I realized that they also forgot my hush puppies! That was really disappointing because it sounds like everybody raves about them. For my meal I ordered the Eastern pulled pork and STL rib combo with a baked potato and coleslaw. The flavor of both meats was spot on and really great! However, the texture was terrible... The pulled pork was chewy and a little bit dry. Felt like it was overcooked. The ribs were the toughest I have ever experienced. Definitely no fall off the bone here. I literally had to tear them apart to get the bones out. Again delicious flavor, but the texture really ruined the experience. The coleslaw and potato were delicious! Though, no real butter provided but rather a "whipped spread" made of various vegetable oils. Also...still hungry after cleaning my plate. Not worth the $20 price tag. Don't think I would go back for a second attempt. I was overall really...
