This restaurant wasn't what I expected. There was only one waiter and the owner was the cashier person/server. The restaurant needs more employees because they have the customer base just not enough staff. The male waiter wasn't friendly or engaging. No one greets you at the door it's a self seat yourself place if you can find a seat. My firs ttime was Saturday 5/25 and I don't think I would return again. We ordered a whole chicken with 2 different rices and an avocado salad with a side of Yuca. The chicken was good but could have been cooked longer in my opinion. The rice and beans was really good, especially the beans. The yellow rice my husband ordered was ok. The avocado salad was pretty good and the yuca was freshly fried and crispy the way it should be. This place needs to do better. We waited awhile for our food. Everything came out slowly, the last thing we got was the chicken and that was the first item that was already to cooked before anything. I didn't really like the chicken all that much, it was a little too slimy for me (not enough crispy on the skin). If you want to try this restaurant out be warned that the wait time for everything is super slow and the...
Read moreWe cannot say enough about the food and the service. Super Pollo is a small restaurant with their main dish being chicken. But it is not your everyday chicken - it is the best chicken the wife and I have ever eaten! They have a huge rotisserie where they may be roasting 10 - 20 chickens at a time! You can buy a half chicken and order sides, or a whole one. Our average dinner consists of a whole chicken which the wife and I share, along with 2 - 3 empanadas (beef or chicken), a shared salad topped with avocado, 2 orders of rice and beans and for the wife, home made rice pudding which she just loves. And the price? This would run about $30, you just cannot beat it! When not ordering chicken, you can order platters such as thin steak over rice and beans with fried plantain and a fried egg for $14, and it is a very large platter. The place is not large, it is not quiet and you may have to wait for a table, but it is worth the wait. They also have call ahead take...
Read moreTonight I visited this local establishment and was treated like a second class citizen . The waitress was not only rude but ignored my requests and made me wait 30 minutes for a bottle of water that I ordered . She served every other patron that was of Peruvian and Spanish decent and because I was Caucasian and didn’t speak Spanish , she said she had to serve her other guests first . My chicken was cold and the items I ordered she claimed they didn’t have , when the table behind me was eating exactly what I ordered . All the other patron were served before me and they were served dessert before I even got my first course . This is restaurant not only proved to be biased but didn’t give me the same respect that the other guest were afforded . Do not go there if you can’t speak their language , you will be made to feel the same way I did tonight . The owner should be ashamed of himself for allowing this to happen and for allowing her to work and deal...
