Abused by Via Veneto Brick. I purchased takeout with a gift card given to me by a wonderful client. After the order there was $90 remaining on the gift card. The person who served me didn't return the card (which was a paper printout I received by email). When I asked about it he told me the balance was printed on my receipt and it was all I needed. Sure enough it was printed on the receipt so I said "thanks" and went on my way. Yesterday I returned intending to use the gift receipt balance. But the server said he needed the original gift card. Of course I explained why I didn't have it. Politely, and in his own words, he pretty much said I was out of luck and required I pay for the order. While holding the receipt showing the $90 gift card balance in his hand. He said he needed the "whole" gift card number which was printed on the receipt with the first group of numbers redacted showing only the last several numbers. I politely explained it wasn't my idea to trade the gift card printout for the receipt. It was their establishment who did that, despite the fact I questioned it. So, Via Veneto beat my client out of $90 and beat me out of $70. As a small business owner I see gift cards as an opportunity to gain new business. I guess Via Veneto has...
Read moreMaybe I should have read the reviews before before paying $450.. for 6 people and it’s BYOB, which includes the 20% they tack on the bill for a tip that was in our opinion not worth the service we had tonight! My husband and I split a cesear salad and they brought one bowl, to split it they wanted $5.00 so we dealt with that ourselves! I ordered shrimp scampi which came with 5 medium size shrimp and enough pasta for a child!, mind you we waited an hour for our dinner to arrive! No one at our table had enough food for the prices they are charging for dinner, and we won’t be going back either because the service was just as bad! On nights like this, I would rather stay home! Oh, and when you ask for coffee, make sure you specify 1/2 and 1/2 … they brought out milk.. and waited 45 minutes for that as well! We arrived at 7p and left at almost 10, well that’s what happens when the waitress keeps disappearing, apparently they have a lack of help as well! What a bummer...
Read moreFirst time there. 2 things to know...it's a BYOB and Make Reservations!!! Now, the service was excellent, friendly and can spout off the specials without missing a beat. Explained everything and able to answer any menu questions. As for the food...it was out of this world. I had the Chicken Provencal (?) It was a special. And it was very special, tender and flavorful. We also ordered the tripe appetizer, bean & escarole soup, rack of lamb, special eggplant dish, and chicken parm. Everything done to perfection. So good. Dessert was Lemoncello cake and a Bomba (mango and passion fruit gellato in a hard white chocolate shell). Well, I died and went to heaven. I could not have asked for a better meal. And the coffee, brewed to perfection. I will tell you, it is very expensive, at least more than I'm used to. But it's worth every penny for a special occasion or a night out once in a while. Glad I got a doggie bag so I can enjoy their food...
