Sweet Green Food Market — Local services in Brick Township

My husband and I just decided not to shop at Wal-Mart. We want to give our money to small local businesses after the shut downs. This place is right by us and on the way to/from work. It has amazing selection, Asian snacks and sauces, fresh cheese, local eggs, and a produce selection with better choice and cheaper price then any big chain store. It carries the oatmilk that Wal-Mart stopped carrying. I've seen teenage children help stock with parents so it looks to be family owned. I wish I knew more about who owned it! Our family is grieved to see a Lidl's grocery store open up RIGHT NEXT to it! The audacity of these corporations! Reprehensible. We will not be stepping foot into that mess. My only suggestion is please consider carrying big packs of water, and we could get everything we need from this store, as we're vegetarian and don't consume any meat. They do carry meat and deli meats (the deli is huge ) but we just enjoy their fresh pickles and cheese. As I write this, it's 7:30AM and I'm getting ready to get my shoes on and sneak out before the family gets up and grab some oatmilk and honey from this store LOL. I go very often to see what's on their clearance table because the products are greatly reduced in price. Otherwise, their prices are way overpriced. Also, they're small staff have a what looks like a wonderful relationship with each other, but much less than congenial with the customers.Poor attitudes. Kind of "Don't ask me.. you're interrupting and bothering me"This I have experienced on every single visit. To the owner, and all who work there, Take the class "How to Win Friends and Influence People" by Dale Carnegie. It's of great help for those who have no confidence, congeniality, or social skills. Truly ...it will change your life and others around...

BEWARE!!! PAY ATTENTION when you are being rung up at the register. The person who owns the store CONSISTENTLY OVERCHARGERS FOR ITEMS!!! In the past she has charged for more items than what was being purchased. Today she charged $0.79 per roll for roll that were labeled as $0.65. It may sound like it’s not much or may seem petty to be upset about to some people but think of the grand scheme of things. Multiple items, multiple customers a day they are STEALING more in profits than they would be making in the normal profit from an item. Pay attention if you do not like to be taken advantage of and...
