Flaming Grill & Supreme Buffet — Restaurant in Brick Township

This is by far the best buffet I have ever been to. I see a lot of other 1 star reviews saying pretty bad things, so Im going to debunk them because me and my boyfriend and other friends used to go here basically every week for several months.

The staff was rude: This is most likely because this place is very busy most of the time, and I would be stressed out too. They have always been very nice to us and I have never actually seen any of them be rude, so my guess is you caught them on a bad day, it happens.

The food was cold: Weve never had cold food. The food is all under heat lamps and the sushi is over ice.

The food was disgusting / had flies / plates were dirty: Plates have never been dirty, sometimes they still have water on them from being washed but thats it. Ive never seen flies inside this place, and the food is very good.

Hibachi was bad / hibachi guy was rude: They have multiple different guys that do the hibachi, so it isnt just one man. Ive seen some people say that he just walks away and lets the food burn. This man has been standing in front an extremely hot piece of equipment for hours, he is allowed to walk away, and also even though they do that they never let the food burn. Also he is not being rude by not talking to you because he is focusing and doing his job. The hibachi is my favorite part of going and i always get it first.

They let kids run around: well, I guess yes they do. But why not? Its a very friendly and open place, its literally a buffet, not a fancy restaurant. There are often birthday parties and they have a big room for it. I read that someone mentioned the staff told to kids to stop playing once they were actually in the way in “their language”. I dont understand why that piece of information was used against them, because the staff knowing how to speak japanese and/or chinese is very helpful and inclusive to those who cant speak english well. This being such a welcoming place gives off a great vibe.

Some other pros of this place are that if you dont like sushi or chinese / japanese food they have american food too. They have a huge variety of food.

The only reason I took off one star may be a gross one, but I believe it has been fixed by now. As I states earlier, we /used/ to go here every week, past tense. We stopped because about 5 times in a row about 1-2 days after eating there both me and my boyfriend developed pinworm (for those who dont know, they are very tiny white worms that live in your intestine and come out at night and make your bottom area very uncomfortable, they are also visible in fecal matter. Pinworm is highly contagious and is most often spread through the ingestion of their microscopic eggs in food that has been touched. ) so basically, one of the staff that dealth directly with the food had pinworm. But I think whoever it was is okay now, because weve been there twice recently and have not gotten it either time.

So, really great food, only 4 stars because worms....

TERRIBLE service from the moment we walked in. I’ve been a waitress/server/bartender for over 10 years and that was by far the WORST service I’ve ever experienced. My family and I were excited to try this local buffet as the reviews were decent. When we arrived, there were a lot of people waiting in the lobby. When I approached the host stand, the host literally just stared into space, not even acknowledging me. I then go “hello, is there a wait? Is this where I give my name?” The young lady proceeded to completely ignore me and stare into space (honestly, this is when we should’ve just left and went to another restaurant). Another young man behind the counter overheard me, stepped in and took care of me. We waited for about 10-15 minutes. Once we were sat, our waitress was extremely rude and had no desire what so ever to take care of us. She walked passed us multiple times, without clearing ANY plates or asking for refills — which is literally ALL they are required to do at a buffet. I had to wave her down to stop her and ask, which she then just stopped & looked at me, saying nothing. It seemed like I was a bother for even asking her to do her job. She cleared our plates that ONE time and got ONE refill. She didn’t come back to the table until she dropped our check, although she walked by multiple times and we clearly needed service. All dirty and unused plates stayed on our table until someone else came and cleared them AFTER we paid. Which was an extreme clutter and made it hard to eat with so many plates on the table. Then to top it all off, I was extremely upset with the fact that there were NO snow crab legs, as that was our main reasoning for going! On the website and takeout menu, they have them listed. This was my first and LAST time going to Flaming Grill Buffet....

Terrible experience. Just moved to Brick and figured we would try it out, worst chinese buffet I have ever been to. Hibachi was "ok" but then you're expected to tip them extra and today was fathers day and they insisted they had signs outside saying the price was higher, and the sign was not out when we came in but magically was when we were leaving. (I know this because my niece went up to the water wall they have and we all stood in front of it without the sign there, then it appeared during our meal sometime as he pointed to it when we complained atbout food and service) I don't mind paying extra for good food, but no one is my party was happy with the experience. Most of the "basics" seemed to be made differently, and someone in my party frequents this place and said there were no "special" foods put out for Father's Day for the higher price we were expected to pay. The desserts were terrible. Cakes looks lopsided and homemade and not good at all. They have little hospital quality ice creams for dessert. The waiter also didn't bring us the correct drinks. Im sorry but def not worth almost $20 a person. For that we could've went and sat down at restaurant and ate a decent meal. We all left barely eating!!! And the customer service when we complained was TERRIBLE. They could care less that we weren't happy. They just want to make their money and send you on your way. He argued with me about everything until I had to scream for a partial refund while standing next to another paying customer who also said she was never coming back again.
