Panda Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Bridgeport

There are not fifty Chinese restaurants in Bridgeport as claimed by another reviewer but there are certainly a dozen or so. There are also quite a few in the the surrounding towns of Trumbull, Stratford, and Shelton. I have sampled a fair number of them. I also worked just a few blocks from Panda for many years and ate lunch there every couple of weeks. For what it's worth, this is my absolute favorite basic Chinese takeout in the area. Chicken in Chinese takeout places can be iffy. At Panda, it always seems to be fresh, perfectly cooked, wonderfully seasoned, and never covered with slippery stuff as is often the case. Vegetables are also always fresh and never overcooked. The basic chicken with broccoli is the best I've ever had. Also, be sure to try the Special Fried rice which is a meal in itself. Beef dishes are also great, always tender and never laden with unchewable sinew. Basic egg rolls are phenomenal, never saturated with oil. The front is run by Cindy, who is a no nonsense professional. I've never seen her foul up an order. Although I no longer work nearby, when it's time for a Chinese food fix, after sampling most of the restaurants closer to me, I continue to drive 10 plus miles to make sure my Chinese takeout night is the best...

Have been ordering for a few years, getting delivery at home. The food has always been ok, same with the service. Recently things have definitely taken a turn for the worse. The woman who answers the phone has a personality that swings from being plain rude to being bizarre. Over the summer she stated that they couldn't deliver to my address bc it's too dangerous, even though they've been here many times in the past. She would only deliver to the fire station a quarter mile from my home. Btw, no shootings, robberies, etc have occurred in my area for at least 5yrs. Last night we ordered about 35$ of food, it was delivered. No problems. Then we realized that a guest we had over had been overlooked. So we called them back to place another order. Her answer, at first, was 'no! We can't come back there twice in one night. No!' My husband explained we were going to spend more money, asked why she didn't want the business. She paused, then stated she did want the business. Paused again and said they were so very busy (@ 9pm on a Tuesday!), they would only come out for a 35$ minimum. Never, ever ordering again. My husband also places the frequent orders from his coworkers....that USED to all...

I order food from this place once in a while, so this happened yesterday i.e 9/20/2017. I called and ordered food for delivery and paid through my debit card. After 5 minutes I received a call from a lady and she told we Indians should go back to our country and this is America !!! I tried to clarify her that she has a wrong number and I am a regular customer for her store, but she continued her audacity stating she had some fake transactions previously with some Indian customer and she was taking her frustration on me. The worst part is she didn't even apologize for her statement. I told her that was rude and a racist remark, She said thank you and hung up on me. I told the delivery guy that his manager made a statement like this and he too supported her stating they had encountered a guy who used a fake credit card to order food. Look I understand they had a problem but how is that my f**king problem !!!! ???? They just lost a loyal customer, I am never going back again. These type of people are a threat to society. They spread hatred !! I am not going back and definitely not a healthy place to be. I do not trust their with their food if they have...
