Dear Grill 2,
I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to express my deep disappointment and frustration regarding an incident that occurred during our recent visit to your establishment on [9/08/2023].
My wife and I had been looking forward to dining at your restaurant, as we had heard wonderful things about the food and ambiance. However, our experience was far from what we had anticipated.
Upon arrival, we were greeted by a host who seemed disinterested and unwelcoming. The gentleman was more interested in the women in back.
When we inquired further about the situation, we were met with rudeness and a complete lack of professionalism. The host made it clear that they were unwilling to assist us or find a solution to the problem. This refusal of service left us feeling humiliated and disrespected.
As paying customers, we believe that every individual deserves to be treated with dignity and respect. It is disheartening to encounter such behavior in an establishment that prides itself on providing exceptional service.
We understand that mistakes can happen, and unforeseen circumstances may arise. However, the manner in which this situation was handled was completely unacceptable. We were left with no choice but to leave the premises, feeling deeply disappointed and let down by the experience.
We sincerely hope that you take this incident seriously and address the issues within your establishment. It is crucial to ensure that all customers are treated fairly and respectfully, regardless of the circumstances.
We trust that you will take the necessary steps to prevent such incidents from occurring in the future. We hope that our feedback will contribute to the improvement of your service and the overall customer experience.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. We hope that our next dining experience at your restaurant, should we choose to return, will be a more positive...
Read moreHonest Review of Grill II in Bridgeport: PSAHow did this place get above 3 stars? Granted, I haven't tried everything on the menu, but my experience with the Oxtail and my daughter's chicken tenders was appalling. The Oxtail, a staple of Jamaican cuisine, couldn't have been more disappointing. To rate it higher than 1 star is to claim a hot dog cart is haute cuisine, which would be an affront to some hot dog carts. The Oxtail was served in a small bowl with no spoon to remove the excessive oil, drowning the meat. The rice was bland and cold, obviously reheated with cold water. Each piece of meat was fighting for survival between jellied fat and excessive salt, the only form of seasoning. The first bite was overly salty, and the subsequent ones only dulled my taste buds further. Mixing it with rice didn't help.I initially blamed myself for expecting more until my 6-year-old said her chicken tenders tasted like fish. I tried them and indeed, they had the texture of chicken but the taste and aroma of fish—like dried, freezer-burnt chicken. They were left untouched. In short, the only decent items were the French fries and the drinks. Please, before giving a place 3 stars, consider whom you're representing: yourself, public safety, or the company. If it's yourself and the place is subpar, what does that say about you? If it's the public, be honest. If it's the business, you're only hurting it in the long run because eventually, someone will tell the truth and discredit your reviews, hindering everyone's chance for improvement. As I write this review six hours after visiting, I'm still haunted by the taste of that meal. It's crucial to provide honest feedback to help businesses improve. By sugar-coating or inflating ratings, we only perpetuate mediocrity. Let's strive for transparency and accountability in our reviews to support genuine growth and excellence in the dining industry. Ok, Vivaldi can...
Read moreThe vibe here at this BLACK OWNED ESTABLISHMENT is AMAZING ❗️
Very late review as I came here December of last year, so I apologize. I do venue and food reviews for work and am a bit behind as the winter/new year season is always busy with events (I use the slower spring months to catch up).
I came here for dinner December 21st, 2021 and the DJ was great, although the music is definitely too loud (we could barely have a conversation and, if I recall correctly, the party portion of the evening wasn’t due to start yet). The decor was very nice, a blend of vintage modern and whimsical accents like their swing chairs and yellow fairy lights. Very Instagram photo ready. The portion sizes here are huge and the other patrons there were lit, very friendly, and drama free. The hospitality of the waitstaff and owner was everything you need and want when you’re spending your money somewhere❗️Everything (the silverware, glassware, etc) was clean and well taken care of.
I felt safe and welcomed in this atmosphere and ultimately had a great time, but my criticism is as followed:
Although the food was delicious, it was hard to thoroughly enjoy the salad. I don’t remember the name of it but it was way too overdressed with their vinaigrette. The pasta was great, but would have been phenomenal with much less oil (I could taste it and see it pooling at the bottom of the bowl). I also felt like it was missing something as far as seasoning goes, but it could just be that the oil was too overpowering. The pasta reheated well, the salmon was still tender, but, of course, the dish released even more oil which made it look very unappealing.
Overall, this IS a spot to have in your list of go-to’s❗️I’ve been back since my initial experience and haven’t regretted it. Just keep in mind that the dance floor (which is really the enclosed bar area) is very small, but you can still have an amazing time here...
