I usually go to this place for my food and have a pleasant time! I've been going there for a year now and the staff is so friendly (most of them) today was different. After waiting in the COLD rain with about 17 other people (I counted) for 20 minutes I was let in. There was a nasty old pale lady with long braided pigtails and dark purple lipstick. I've never even seen her before. She claimed she wasn't new. Anyway, I absent mindly grabbed a cart before giving her my ID. She said "I'm not taking that until you put it back. Youre blocking the way." They had a cart of turkey blocking the exit but I was blocking the way. Okay. Then I all of a sudden needed proof of address when again, I've been going here for a year and no one told me prior to this. I cried twice while I was there which is SO embarrassing. Ever improving. Always trying. Always respectful. Kudos to...
Read moreIt's set up like a store what a pleasent change from people pushing food you don't eat. As a vegetarian it was a great treat to find quinoa dark chocolate in these cute little bags at 35 calories a bag. YEAH!!! Food I could eat. Now I find squash different color potatoes. As you leave instead of giving money you just get bags with a smile. It's a winner. Being poor folks don't mean we should be treated poorly what a nice little joy. This is the best food bank I have been ever that had the blessing of fresh food that's picked by me for me. Thank You Somerset County Food Bank. Number 1...
