I’ve been to this establishment many years ago before the renovations, name change, and possibly new ownership. It’s definitely a huge upgrade to the interior. I dropped in on Sunday to watch the game. They had a Brunch with Santa, which I thought was a cool idea. The spread looked really good.
I sat outside at the porch bar, since it was the only thing available for walk ins. Ordered myself a mimosa and a egg & pork roll sandwich. The sandwich was out of this world. I can see myself knocking back a few every other week. Our bartender wasn’t bad, but there were times where you had to break her down with kindness in order for her to come out of her standoffish shell.
The reason for the two star drop because I started to get a weird vibe. Plenty of staff onboard but it was starting to annoy me at how petty some of the employees were being. Some were not personable, not friendly and standoffish. Too much of airing out dirty laundry in front of your patrons. If you think it’s too loud inside for people to hear or see what’s going on, then I have news for you, I can hear and see everything. I have the ability to read lips on top of it all and it’s amazing to see this right in front of you. There is definitely some high school drama going on behind the bar. This made me want to leave.
I also think managers shouldn’t be walking around having those awkward conversations with the employees while your customers are within ear shot. You gotta be more mindful of that and try to keep those conversations more private. There was one male with the slick dark hair, I’m assuming part of management. He’s got a very familiar face, like I’ve seen him before but if looks could kill you, he’s that guy. Takes a serious guy to run a business but you have to look like you’re enjoying it just a little bit.
Atmosphere is good, food was delicious, drinks were good. I don’t let a few people ruin the entire review because they did hit a few good stars, but if you’re micromanaging the staff and there is still issues on the floor, lock it up before it spirals...
Read moreWe arrived and asked to sit outdoors with the other patrons if they had a shady area, they advised they closed the outdoor dining. So we took a table inside. When we got to the table it was extremely sticky which shows it wasn't cleaned properly. When we went to order, the waiter advised they ran out of most of the menu, and blamed mother's Day which was a week prior. No shrimp, no scallops, no flat breads to name a few... I ordered fried pickles, they came out really chewy and lacking enough sauce to dip into which was the only thing making them edible. I mentioned to my server that they were chewy and not the best, and he agreed. Ordered a watermelon bar drink, and it was inconsistent with others that ordered the same drink. Ordered a steak medium, and subbed fries for their smashed potatoes, and my steak was way over cooked. The waiter told me he told the manager who said to serve it anyway. The waiter then advised he'd have the manager come, he came back and said the manager offered to replace the meal, the manager should have made an effort to visit the table after all the issues. The waiter advised the manager offered a dessert as compensation, we asked what to order the waiter suggested the fried ice cream. My wife's allergic to strawberries so we asked if that flavor can be substituted, he said sure, so we ordered 2 vanilla and one chocolate. The waiter came back and advised which they were out of vanilla fried ice cream. So we ordered it regular (with strawberry), and they were really nice here and served all 3 flavors in separate bowls so my wife could enjoy. The ice cream was good, just a bit salty. All in all, it wasn't a very enjoyable dinner, with issue after issue and the manager was no where to be found. Now when we were leaving, to make things even worse, people were still outdoors eating, and I noticed a few people who were not there when we got there so it wasn't closed after all... This was my first and probably last visit to this establishment, which is sad because I live really...
Read moreThis place is 100% going down the tubes. My wife and I have been coming here for 8 years, our experience on Saturday May 3rd at around 3pm was so bad it’s difficult for me to just pass by. I’m not one to leave reviews. First my wife and I ordered the build your own burger she clearly checked pickled jalopenos they came out with nachos jalopenos and about 70% of her wrap was flooded with jalopenos. The bartender actually had the nerve to ask my wife if she could remove the jalopenos and put the right jalopenos in. Sorry, what? You want us to disassemble and rearrange her wrap after dropping $28 on a turkey wrap to what she ordered? Ok. Then we noticed neither wrap had blue cheese crumbles after we selected that. Ok. Then the runner comes out with 2 new wraps and sounds very confused as to what the issue was. So we boxed the one wrap. I told him we don’t want free food we want our order right the first time. No apologies on the screw up. I mean it clearly stated our order on the slip but ok. Lastly I ate this wrap yesterday and 90% of it had blue cheese crumbles in it. I think the kitchen is honestly clueless or spiteful I couldn’t quite dissect it. Is it your first time making a wrap? I can make a better wrap in my house and not drop $28 on disgustingness. In the middle of my weight lift I actually had the disgusting ingredients and poor quality wrap you designed come up out of my throat because of how poorly you rationed this wrap. I actually became sick and threw up from this turkey burger wrap they made. This isn’t the first time this has happened either. We gave it another try a few weeks ago. Detroit style flatbread. They literally smushed 20 pounds of soft cheese on soft bread. I’d be hard pressed to find out who enjoys the food here. Never again I won’t be coming back. Fool me once my fault but twice something is definitely off. Save your money and headache do not come here. Tommy’s is...
