Andre's Wine Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Brigantine

Just had dinner here with my husband for his Birthday. Alina our waitress was a total sweetheart. She was a little frazzled because they were short staffed (as many restaurants are). Tonight was a night where a lot of people felt the need to complain whether it was their table selection, they only wanted to sit in certain sections, etc. we had an absolute wonderful dinner, everything was perfect from beginning to end. Every staff member we encountered was nice, pleasant, respectful and had smiles on their faces. I felt so sorry for Alina she had this one couple that complained about everything. She bent over backwards for these people and nothing she did or said was good enough. The couple made sure to tell her several times it was the husband’s birthday. Alina explained that they are short staffed and doing their best and the woman actually had the nerve to say “Well it looks like you have enough people “. Seriously lady!! How about you throw an apron on and give it a try. This couple looks like the kind that makes a living out of complaining trying to get free stuff. Well this restaurant and their incredible staff do not need people like you. Next time stay home and make your husband a birthday dinner. To the owners and staff at Andre’s keep up the great job!! We have been to Andre’s every year we have come to this beach. This was the last time we will ever go there. All started well and we put our orders in and one order of kids food. The waitress asked if we wanted the child’s food out first and we obviously said yes to that. Almost an hour went by before the kids food arrived. At this point she was already falling asleep at the table. So my wife had to take her back to the room. Only got a bite or two of food. We then sat there waiting for our food to arrive which it did another 40 minutes later. There were multiple tables sat up to 45 minutes after us that got the same food we did 15 minutes before we got ours. Mind you this was a party of 6 so not a large table. I had to get my wife’s food to go because it took so long. We asked for the manager and she gave us every excuse except a simple sorry and some sort of comp for how long we had to wait. The food was mediocre I had a seafood broil and the shrimp and lobster were way over cooked. I ordered a side of pasta with mine and got some cheesy potatoes I could not eat. Came here for the first and last time today. We called ahead and made a reservation for 6. They told us to arrive in 20 minutes. We arrived in 15 and proceeded to wait for 30 minutes even though there were dozens of tables open. When we asked the Hostess why we were waiting we were told that kitchen was backed up because they were understaffed. After finally being seated, we were informed that we could only order soups, salads, drinks and pizza. Don’t advertise being a restaurant and have a full dinner menu if you can only be a pizzeria. Also the kitchen was under staffed but they had 10-15 waiters and waitresses standing around with nothing to do. We ordered 3 soups and 2 salads and 3 pizzas. The soups were obviously poured from a can, heated up and served. When the pizzas came out they had screwed up the toppings on 2 of the 3. This pizzeria is painfully not ready for Prime time. Get rid of some waiters and waitresses and hire some chefs if you want to keep any clients. You should go to Cordivari’s or Brigantine Bistro if you’re looking for good service...
