I am a big fan of the Jersey Mike's nearby my work. I was excited to show my girlfriend the new location in Brighton hoping for the similar results of experience.
Unfortunately, this was not the case at all. My girlfriend ordered prior to me, and moved down the line to the checkout counter. I asked for a special request to my sub at the beginning of the line while the cashier was talking to my girlfriend trying to total our order. We paid for our order, and the next thing I know, my girlfriend is being yelled at by a female manager for accidentally confirming the wrong order with the cashier. We had already paid so she told us that she would have to issue a refund and we would have to repay for our order.
As the manager was refunding us, she started telling my girlfriend that she should have been listening for the sub numbers upon order confirmation from the cashier and that it was my girlfriend's fault for confirming the wrong order. First of all, it was very loud inside the establishment, with music playing throughout on overhead speakers. Second, everyone was wearing masks and both my girlfriend and the cashier were talking low. Third, there was no visual aid to confirm what exactly we were paying for other that the price on the card reader, which was a few dollars off from the actual, correct order. Fourth, we were next in line to pay after ordering, everyone dining in had paid up to that point so my girlfriend was under the impression that we were paying for the correct order. She has a hard time hearing so she most likely did assume, instead of confirming with the cashier that we were paying for the correct order. Following the order being corrected and repaid, we waited a long time (~8 minutes) for my sub, which resulted in not being as ordered.
I have understanding that this location just opened and that they are very busy and trying to get new customers and new employees all on the same page but the amount of disrespect my girlfriend and I received from one of the managers was inexcusable. The treatment that specifically my girlfriend got for something that was an accident, and she misheard what the cashier said, completely ruined the first time experience for her. The lack of accommodations and understanding we received just because she misheard was ridiculous.
A manager should be leading the way in providing accommodations to new customers and providing a strong positive example for new employees. The circumstance may have made the next 5 minutes or so more difficult for the manager and the staff, but it ruined our meal and our overall experience...
Read moreOrder a sub from here once a week and always get extra meat… this apparently is extra meat. When I question it because I have never gotten this little meat on a sub when paying extra meat… the girl behind the counter argues with me not even looking saying that is what we are trained to do. When I call out the bs by saying could I buy a regular sub with regular meat to compare she says that because I had a giant sub the extra meat won’t be the same as the regular because they put less meat on the sub. Well if that would be true that’s a definite untrustworthy business practice. Furthermore there were 2 guys eating there when I was saying this who both got regular meat on their sandwich and had more meat than I did on my paid for extra meat sub. They both were in disbelief too. Even when the girl was arguing with me about how she made the sub and is how they are trained to do it… the other girl stocking the chips in the store was rolling her eyes and laughing because she knew it was bs too. Not only do you not treat customers this way but also I know there is no way that people are trained to purposefully give less meat on a sub when getting a different size. Also why wouldn’t you make a regular sub with regular meat that I was going to pay for? Because you knew it would show your mistake. The sad part… this is the 3rd time this has happened. They are hoping you take the carry out home and don’t check it then not worth your time to come back. Instead you are definitely going to have me make you make it right to get what I paid for so they end up making a second sub. There is only one girl there who consistently makes the sub correctly and never have a problem… but to the girl with her damn nose ring who wants to argue with customers… someone should fire her, not only are the openly argumentative with customers but also apparently claim to be trained to short paying customers too. Not a good look for ownership. Especially for a regular customer. I mean I’m here enough I earn a free sub with rewards every 2ish weeks (incase aren’t aware that takes a lot of ordering) so why piss off maybe one of your most frequent customers over this crap. If you are going to be consistent how about you be consistently good to your customers not trying to...
Read moreI ordered the original Italian mikes way and I only had to state my order once. From the moment I placed my order, the girl building my sub was dialed in. She greeted me by saying hi, asked what I wanted and confirmed I wanted it mikes way. From there, she was off. She sliced my meat faster than I’d ever seen before. She piled that puppy up, confirmed once again for mikes way and loaded me up. She doused it in the perfect amount of oil and vinegar. I was nervous at girls because it was sitting right on top of the tomatoes, I thought it wouldn’t sink in, but I had no right to doubt the sub expert in front of me. I took one bite into my sub (after not being that hungry) and devoured the rest. It was delicious. To make it even better, the girl who helped me cash out complimented my outfit and asked me where I got my pants from. 10/10 experience, would recommend. Everyone inside the store was smiling and cracking jokes despite it being busy. Huge fan. You can expect to see me at this...
