You have one shot to impress me! I actually gave Happy Taco two opportunities before I decided to write this review. Atmosphere: MUSIC IS TOO LOUD!! The place is small and you can’t have a conversation with your friends or family. Definitely need a fountain drink station! Need curtains as the sun was blinding as you sit and eat at the window table. Service: This was the best quality about Happy taco. Both times the service was good and definitely have a friendly staff. Food: First time I got Birria tacos. The tacos themselves were definitely subpar and the Consommé was lukewarm. Really disappointed as this is one of my favorite dishes at Mexican restaurants. 2nd Time I got 3 tacos with rice and beans. Both side dishes were cold! I can’t imagine anyone enjoying cold rice and cold beans. The beans had great flavor however I couldn’t eat them cold. My tacos were good however nothing to brag about. For the price I’ll probably not go back. I have no problem paying $18 if my meal was really good. I’ll come back in a few months and see if Happy Taco is reading these reviews and make the...
Read moreAfter eating here twice, I think I am qualified to leave a fair review. I really want to like this place but am somewhat unsatisfied for a few reasons. Overall, the food we have received has been okay, especially the chorizo burrito. The chips and salsa, side dishes, and tacos were average but not terrible. There are just a few annoyances that I wish small businesses like this would address... 1. Please offer complementary chips and salsa. Many Mexican restaurants do this and it goes along way. 2. Have a self-serve fountain machine so that patrons can drink tap water or fountain drinks with their meals. Bottled drinks are the sole option in this joint. 3. Put out napkins on the tables so that you don't need to request these separately with each meal... this just adds an unnecessary trip back to the counter. 4. Prices are about 15% higher than they should be for the amount and quality of food that you receive. Again, I really want Brighton to have a few good Mexican food options, but so far, this seems more par...
Read moreUpdate: 5☆ to 1☆ Apparently it depends who is in the kitchen. Ordered quesabirria tacos. They couldn't get it right. Just tacos with birria meat, like what I ordered last time. I ordered tacos last time, so that was fine. They told us they didn't know the difference between quesabirria and tacos, but yet it's on the menu. The meat was also very dry and cold when it was brought out. The rice the beans, all cold. If they are serving cool meats and sides, pretty sure they are not holding them at proper temp. Enjoy all that bacteria growth, YUM! The floors and tables were a mess. And the music is way too loud for that small of a place. Not sure what's going on that things can change so quickly 3 days. I'll update again if we do return.
The tacos are amazing, salsa amazing, guacamole, yep you guessed it...AMAZING! Best authentic street tacos in Livingston County. I don't live in Brighton, but if I did, I'd be here everyday! The birria is sooooo tender and good. And the portions are pretty large...
