To be honest with you, this may seem like the town "hole in the wall", and that may totally be true, but it's also really the only "hole in the wall" type place left in town. And these types of places are important in every town.
This place isn't the best, biggest, or cleanest bar in town, but it is a great place, to have a great time. Most of the crowd here are all regulars, but that doesn't mean they don't like having guests. I myself became a regular here at one point but that was specifically based on the crowd, the service, and the fact that sometimes they have free darts (and I love me some darts, especially free ones). Oh and the Touch Tunes jukebox isn't half bad either.
I don't frequent here for the beer selection, the food, or the karaoke. I come here because the service is top notch. Vicki/Vicky (sorry about the spelling) is one of the best bartenders I have come across. There have been a number of times where I will have not stopped in for months and as soon as my girlfriend and I do, she is right there with the exact drink we would order. No questions asked.
If you're looking for one of the last traditional "bar" establishments to grab a drink and have a good time at in Brighton, then...
Read moreI've been coming to the shamrock lounge long before the change of ownership happened, but recently I've had quite a hard time having more than one beer there, I'm a chef in Novi at The toasted oak and I tend to get out a little late so I often show up at the shamrock right around a change of shift and whenever the shift change happens the bartender that takes over and gives me the excuse I don't know how many drinks you've ordered beforehand even though I showed up after she took over and have only been there for enough time for her to pour me one drink, I will say due to this I have been able to drink for free multiple times after being poured two beers and then being immediately told to leave by the new bartender even after offering money for the beer I have drank in I have been refused and just told to leave which I find incredibly rude so we'll probably be just be drinking down the road at the many other bars, but thank you for the free beer and thank you for the years of fine service. And I will say the new cook does make some fantastic food and that is...
Read moreMy girlfriend and I are HUGE pizza fans, we are always watching David Portnoy pizza reviews. We especially love Detroit style. Our favorite Detroit style pizza has been Nikki’s in downtown Detroit with Jets being our favorite chain Detroit style. We drive by Shamrock everyday to and from work. The sign out front said best pizza in town. So we decided to give it a shot!
We got the 4 corner Detroit style with just pepperoni. I just asked my girlfriend as I’m writing this if she thought it was the best Detroit style pizza we have had and she quickly said yes and I would agree. Don’t let the neighborhood bar feel fool you. The crunch, ingredients and cook on the pizza is amazing! It only takes about 10min to come out once ordered. Definitely a place I would travel an hour to just...
