Mike was wonderful to work with on our recent EGO 0 turn mower purchase!! First of all, these mowers have been anxiously awaited for arrival to ACE (they are a licensed distributer to EGO) I have been waiting for them to arrive for 2 months, they are a hot item! The other day I saw that several of the local Great Lakes Ace stores had them in stock, so I called over to the Brighton store and spoke with Mike about getting a look at one. Mike told me that since most ACE stores are small, the chance of finding a store that had a model display was kinda slim, but he also understood that its an expensive purchase to make without even seeing an actual mower, so he went above and beyond...he located a store that had one on display! My husband and I drove over to their Grand Rapids location to check it out, I know that its crazy to drive 2 hours away, but I needed to see this machine before I could commit to buying it. Needless to say, I ended up coming back to Mike to make the purchase, I wanted his store to get credit for the item, and in person he was such a delight to work with! You can tell he really loves his job and his staff was great too, a family vibe! Over in Grand Rapids at the ACE store, we worked with a gentleman named Dale in their EGO dept. and our experience with him was amazing as well! He went over all the gadgets and goodies and answered our questions backed with over 30 years lawn sales experience, we honestly couldn't have asked for a better overall experience between both locations!!
UPDATE...7/26/21 I love the mower!! I have so much fun using it, my neighbors think its so quiet and they are quite amazed at the quality job it does on my lawn! So far, I am extremely happy with the purchase and I encourage others to look into battery powered lawn...
Read moreStopped in this store a week ago as it is very close to my home and I needed to replace a garbage can that the wind blew away after garbage pickup, looked as I might could not find that silly old plastic garbage can in any any of my neighbor's yards. So I drive to the store, I needed the assistance of a worker as I tried several lids and non fit the can. He called over the female manager and asked her where they might be. She tried all the ones that I just went thru and no they did not fit, I told her I just tried 10 and they don't fit. She left a min or so and came back from the back storage room with a lid that worked. I asked her in a sorta joking way because all the cans had stagnant water in them, surely they were from last year being left outside, could they give me a courteous 10 % off as more stores would have done. She said outright no! Yes I know I am putting garbage into this can when I return home but when you purchase something new should it not be so? I didn't want to drive elsewhere so I bought it, did leave a sour taste in my mouth. No pun indented , as the foul water I dumped into another already reeking can, I walked down the isle with my purchase to the register. Was I in the wrong for thinking I should have got a buck off? I recently had Ace sharpen my mulching mower blades. They send them out to be sharpened, this has to be the worst sharpening jobs I have seen. They look worse than just a novice like myself sharpening these blades, which I guess I will be doing from now on. The angle is inconsistent on every cutting edge with portions of the cutting edge being thinner and thicker. I will now have to take the time to fix these blades, what a waste of...
