Was profiled at the door and turned away, for the way I look in my license being "different" than how I look in real life. I grew my hair out slightly. There was a clear agenda underlying the whole interaction. Would avoid if you have any human decency. (Also side note for anyone interested, the online indication was that the interior is closed due to covid 19, but they had a full room of people in, without masks on). I would like to further expand upon my initial review, as I've had time to ponder my experience. I was treated very poorly from the moment I walked in the door, I am not an IPA expert for context, I simply asked if they had any hazy IPA's, in a very condescending fashion I was told they had over "170 hazy IPA's what are you looking for..." I thought about it a moment and said I would like a citrus grapefruit hazy IPA, and as I was saying this my wife noticed there was a drink on the board that had my last name, it is not a common name and I was excited, so I told him I would take one of those instead, he begrudgingly told me that the drink I now wanted was actually mead, well that's perfect because mead is actually my favorite type of alcohol, it was at this point he stopped the whole proceedings and demanded to see my ID, I happily abided as I am 30 years old and a reasonable person, he looked over my license, with what can only be described as an unwavering commitment to the eradication of under aged drinking, bent my license like a strand of DNA and told me he wasn't comfortable serving someone who lives in Texas, I believed this to be a joke and chuckled, and he said sorry and handed it back, to which I boldly proclaimed "are you f@#_ing kidding me?" He said I don't feel comfortable serving someone from Texas... Okay so now that I had been profiled, and humiliated in front of my friend and spouse I had a quick memory, when I moved from sandwich to Dallas I changed my license, but held on to my state ID for keep sake, kind of memory of my last adventure in the state, and told him okay, if you can't accept that ID if I showed you my previous state ID would that give you a little more peace of mind knowing who I am, and why I am here for the holidays and what not... Like a rational adult you know? He examined my state ID like a honey badger facing off against a king cobra 🐍, defeat ladies and gentlemen, because I don't look enough like myself for his liking.. we went to the restaurant next door and enjoyed drinks and food to our hearts content, Flight I sincerely hope your business goes out of business by June. ( You deserved everything that happened, as far as "cussing you out" I asked are you F serious, and said it was b.s.. as for the shakeweight gesture, that was after you had already kicked me out and you...
Read moreI visited on a Friday afternoon to meet up with friends, and Flight Tasting Room did not disappoint. Flight looks like a micro brewery tap room, without actually being a brewery. Flight has a wide variety of mostly local beers on tap, BUT the “Bottle Shop” part is a cool little section of craft beer, wine, cider, and spirits. Simply grab a can or two and the helpful staff will chill it within minutes.. No food here, but there was a food truck outside. Why only 4 starts? This is a credit card only place, no cash, which I actually prefer as I don’t carry cash. The problem is that my bill was settled without giving me an opportunity to leave a tip on my card. I did have a small amount of cash that I threw down but I would have given more. I’ll be back soon! Update: changing to 5 stars based on a reply from Flight: employees earn a living wage and all tips are...
Read moreFlight is an amazing store with a fantastic selection of beers and meads!
You can tell the owners are doing what they love, because they take the time to make recommendations based on what you like or what you might be interested in trying. They helped me land on some delicious barrel aged stouts to try! I was also really impressed that they are taking care of their employees wage wise. Tipping at Flight is optional and is donated to charity.
The taproom is spacious and has spots for a fun date or a larger group outing. They also have a nice outdoor patio for when the weather is nice.
I started to follow them on Untappd and they keep a nice variety rotating on tap, so you can always find a beverage that you love. My recommendation would be to treat yourself to a flight at...
