My experience started off poorly. I waited over seven minutes for the waitress to acknowledge me and take my drink order. Though she claimed to have been at one of her other tables I had watched her standing at the front counter on her cell phone texting. She could not give me any recommendations and ultimately had a different waitress take my table over, which is fine. The new waitress recommended several things, including their big boy, the omelette, and their eggs Benedict, but I settled on my usual order of eggs, bacon, and a biscuit and gravy with sliced Tomatoes.
I had ordered my eggs scrambled soft, and, as expected, they did not come out soft but medium. Sadly, most line cooks donāt understand the difference. The bacon is good and thick, though a little overcooked not too bad. The tomatoes are definitely sliced more of a traditional āburgerā tomato versus a good breakfast friendly tomato. The biscuits and gravy present well, but I have a feeling they are going to be just āokay.ā The biscuit looks good, but the gravy is your standard package gravy made with water, and theyāve tossed in a few small pieces of sausage to āmake itā sausage gravy, but those of us who cook homemade gravy know that the package stuff definitely does not compare to the good homemade kind.
As expected, the tomatoes were rather green, and the gravy had no taste. The biscuit itself is homemade, flaky and fluffy with a really good taste to it. Sadly, all that work is done in by the ultra bland gravy. It required a lot of pepper and salt, and even some of the pieces of bacon to try to give it any type of taste other than just nothing. Iām still on the hunt for a good every day breakfast place.
So the biscuit and gravy with three scrambled eggs its sliced tomatoes came out to $13.28. A side of bacon was $4.99 with tax. All in we are looking at $19.81. Not as expensive as some places, but definitely more than others. Given the nature of the gravy, which is supposedly touted as being great, I donāt know if it was honestly worth the price.
In all I would give this a 2 1/2 stars out of five⦠Not the best, not the worst...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreToday was my fjrst time at Egg It On and it was soooo goooood! My friend and I sat down at 11:15 and didn't leave until 2:20. The food was amazing (I ordered the BLT Cheeseburger) and I asked if they could put an over easy egg on there, and they didn't disappoint. It was one of the best breakfast burgers I think I've ever eaten. And the three coffee carafes we went through I think speaks for itself on the quality of their coffee. Any request we had, they bent over backwards to fulfill.
At one point we had a mini mountain of coffee creamers and sugar packets that we never put on plates, and we were feeling so guilty that they would have to clean that up, that a waitress was walking by with an empty plate and we asked if we could have a trey to "pre-bus" for them. She was so kind and said it was no problem and that the bussers would take care of it for us, but when we insisted that we felt guilty about it, she offered the empty plate for us to pile everything onto.
The wait staff was honestly so kind and accommodating that it felt like I could ask any server or busser for something and my request would be fulfilled. You know those restaurants where you ask a passing server for a napkin or silverware or a drink, and they say "sure" and then disappear - never to be seen again. Egg It On is the exact opposite. It's like they're all on one hive mind and it's amazing. Though we there there for 3 hours (which has honestly never happened oh my goodness) they never once made us feel pressured to leave. In fact, they kept coming back, asking if we needed more water or coffee, even creamer and sugar after we had received our tickets. Y'all know it's rare for a restaurant to do that.
Tl;Dr everything you hate about normal restaurants - this place does right. 10/10...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is the worst establishment I've ever visited. I was suppose to do some work at this location for a company I've been working for for over 6 years. I arrive at the location at the designated time. Surveillance can back Me up. I told the older woman who was the hostess at the time who I am and what company I work with. She told Me to have a seat. Nothing else, just have a seat. A coworker shows up a few minutes after Me and she is told to have a seat someone will be right with you. A few minutes pass and I receive a call from My Daughter. She's crying so I step outside to take the call because the waiting area is crowded, loud and seeing that covid is still a thing I try to keep My distance. The call last all of 3 minutes. I come back inside and notice My coworker is no longer sitting down. So I assume that We were called to start the shift. I ask the hostess is she ready for Me and she said have a seat. An hour passes and My name is finally called and an older woman and a little boy have Me follow them outside. The older woman tells Me she no longer needs Me cuz I was late getting there? I chose to work on a day I usually take off. Since everything has gone up. I have to work that much harder to support My Daughter and Myself. I'm well groomed and maintained so I know My appearance wasn't the issue. I do feel like something else played a role in this one. I've never been put on a dnr(do not return) in the 6 years of working for the company. I wouldn't recommend this over priced...
