The last 2 times I have gone to this location the service and quality have been terrible. We started off the night waiting for someone to take our order. We were given dirty plates that had baked on grease all over the backs. I went to get silverware, something white had been splattered all over the silverware. I had to pick through them to find a moderately clean fork.
This place lacks proper management, especially during their buffet hours. I sat there for over an hour watching their staff on cellphones, laughing and playing around in the back while a lobby full of people waited for someone to stock the salad bar and to put pizza out. They brought out dessert pizza that was half cooked and half of it had raw pizza dough. I watched multiple times the staff walk by the empty salad bar without even thinking to restock it. I spoke to the manager (lady with short hair) and she just smirked when I told her they were serving people raw food. I also brought it to her attention that a lobby full of people were waiting for them to restock the pizza and salad bar, yet their pizza guy was back there playing on his cellphone, 4-5 of them were back there horsing around, and the waitress was just mindlessly walking around in circles not really doing anything productive. The manager said they were doing the best they could with what they had. What they had was plenty of staff with no oversight or direction coming from a lazy manager. Your buffet times are not a surprise and your staff should know their roles and make sure people are able to eat without the risk of food poisoning. Read moreI want to start off by saying that this review is not the norm for this location. We eat here all the time and have had no complaints. Tonight, we ordered a salad and a large pizza. The young man who was ringing us up was very friendly and a good representative for Mazzios. That's where the good review stops. While we were ordering, a roach walked across the countertop. The employee scooped it up and disposed if it, washed his hands and apologized. The new container of cottage cheese that was brought out at our request because the one on the salad bar was empty, tasted odd...so odd that my daughter couldn't eat it. It also had a sunflower kernel in it as well. It tasted almost like it had been in a refrigerator that was in need of cleaning...one that was full of old food. Something else, either in the broccoli or the black olives, had a grit to it when the salad was being chewed. As bad as the salad was...then the pizza came. I thought to myself as I was eating it, that the pizza tasted plastic-y. Then my daughter ate one piece and seemed to have tasted no issue but when she ate her second piece, she commented that the pizza tasted weird...and agreed to my description of plastic-y. We determined by eating the topping only and then eating the crust only that it was the crust that tasted plastic-y. After we finished eating and were walking to our car, we overheard two employees in the parking lot talking about that they knew why the pizza taste bad, but we were not able to hear the reason and was afraid to ask why. Read moreThis is the most poorly managed establishment I have ever encountered. The magnitude that they ignore customers and have no form of delegation or urgency for customer service. I don’t know how three people two of which are managers can be at the front end and walk away as soon as a customer comes to the counter and deliberately walk back and forth and into the lobby and never acknowledge them. It’s pure chaos in here with only 3 people dining in, a couple in drive thru and 4 door dashers waiting they act like they are at full capacity. They really need to be retrained from the top down there is zero organization here or delegation of task the lack of the basic fundamentals of customer service or management in general is non existent. The order and way they are operating is the most inefficient process I have ever witnessed. Now the crew in the back actually preparing orders are putting in full effort it’s the lack of communication and management on the front end is where this place fails. One customer is missing half his order. It’s like there’s no SOP being followed on the front end, just free-styling what should be a well organized operation is the opposite. This place is empty and falling apart in chaos as if there’s a line outside and drive thru has a line down the street. They can’t even tell customers how long the wait will be.
