On a whim we decided to try this place out one evening around 7pm ish. Passing by the window there seemed to be a fair amount of people so we decided to give it a chance. We were greeted and sat down. Someone came by and gave us chips and salsa. The "salsa" tasted like Maranara Sauce you'd get at a Italian Restaurant. I swear I could taste basil. Seemed odd but I shrugged it off.
We got margaritas first. They were good. Then we ordered an appetizer of steak quesadilla. What arrived is what looked like a single small steak taco. Nothing closely resembling a quesadilla not even any cheese in it. We didn't complain to the waiter and let that one go too.
Okay maybe our entrees would be better? We hoped. Nope. I ordered a chimichanga. What arrived was a single flour taco with ground beef in it that had been sauteed on each side. There's no way that little thing with loose meat in it was deep fried. It was folded in half like a taco. A chimichanga is a deep fried burrito last I checked. Then my husbands dish came. He ordered fish tacos. So simple right? No. What arrived was a whole entire fish (head, tail, fins and all) that had been cooked until it was a dried piece of fish jerky. It was hard and dry on the inside and burnt on the outside. We told the waiter (who seemed to speak English just fine) about the dish being incorrect and he just shook his head no. I said but the fish is burnt, and he said it wasn't. My husband tried to eat a bite of it but it was inedible and he couldn't hardly chew it. I tried it and it was unbearably dry. I took pictures of the fish. Needless to say though the waiter did remove it from our ticket because my husband clearly didnt eat it. The waiter didn't offer to fix it for him or even offer to bring him something else? Instead I shared my single ground beef taco with him and we paid our still $58.00 ticket and left. We will NOT be returning to this place. Why do they have menus when they refuse to bring you what you order?...
Read moreThe food is descent however not all of their staff is. My order has been wrong many times, and because I was in a hurry on my lunch break I never spoke up on it. Today I ordered for pick up, and was told a 10 minute pick up time. I arrive after 15 minutes because in the past if I arrive in 10 minutes I'm standing in the front of the restaurant awkwardly waiting for my order. A lady greets me, and asked what I ordered the whole time she never had customer service body language, and she looked at me as if I was bothering her each time I've been in the restaurant she never seems pleasant. The looks she gives explains it all! I tell her my order, and she says there aren't any orders placed, then the guy I spoke with comes up, and says he didn't make the order because he didn't know if I wanted queso on top of my food or on the side, when I gave my order I told him 4 times on the side. So she rudely says on the side, at that point I felt as though I am not spending another penny with this restaurant. They cost me extra time when I was only taking a 30 minute lunch, although I could've have waited for my order, it was the point that I was told a time, and it was not done in that time. Then rude staff is unacceptable. Considering I never complain about past mistakes I had to speak up today. For the employee not to even acknowledge the inconvenience, and cause someone else's business to loose a customer let me know how much customer service she lacked. I did call back and speak with their manager Juan whom offered to make it right, however I'm not sure if I will take him up...
Read moreEntering the building I hear loud noise from the mixture of unforgiving sounds. Not like a restaurant, more like the sounds or setting of a bar. Yes that is it a bar scene... the bar is the first thing you see when you walk in. The establishment boast of authentic Mexican food but somewhere a Texican has invaded and mad it TexMex. The chips were stale and the salsa thinner than water with little flavor and it isn't good. The service was just below average. Lots of viewing screens to take your attention off of the lack of atmosphere. Not going to be a return for me.
I have noticed several of the Mexican restaurants in town that have slipped into being texmex not authentic anymore, and this is one Bjorn of them. Don't let it cool you just because the waiter staff is Hispanic doesn't mean it is authentic Mexican prepared food and portions.
True authentic Mexican food is delicious and prepared with abundant fresh foods and vegetables. The portioning is vulumptuous and you are well satisfied. Not so here. More later I'm bored with this explanation of the poor poor experience that I wish I could forget eating at this bar masquerading as...
