I dined in. Very low key in design but nice and clean. I think our server also helped in the kitchen. What a rockstar. I’ve had sushi at many places from bad to great across the country. This place is amazing. Started with gyoza and salmon tartare. Best gyoza I’ve ever had. Wasn’t overly impressed with the tuna as a complete dish but the fish was so fresh and delicate. And who can go wrong with ponzu. Followed up with spicy girl and American dream roll, then the Nothing crazy about the roll combos. And they gave the classic: blue fin tuna, hamachi, king salmon and striped jack for small sashimi dinner. But once again, the fish was amazing. The rolls were so soft and literally melted in your mouth. When a place says you don’t need soy sauce or wasabi, they’re lying. Not this place. This fish tastes like it just came from the water. Care for products and attention to detail was incredible and thoughtful. Ended with nigiri(o toro, king salmon, scallop and king crab). I’ve said it twice already, won’t say it again. But it was goooooooooood! Wasn’t too busy, hope this place survives here! I’m in my mid thirties, work in the industry and this is the first place ever to make me write a review. Well worth it!...
Read moreI recently dined at Amai Sushi in Brookfield and was thoroughly impressed. The service was attentive and thoughtful, complementing the serene atmosphere of the restaurant.
The highlight of the visit was, without a doubt, the omakase meal. The quality of the fish was top-notch, each piece prepared with a level of care and precision that brought out the best in every bite. Standouts included the scallop hand roll, king crab, madai (sea bream), and toro – each offering a unique and memorable flavor. Though they were out of uni, the meal concluded impressively with foie gras and A5 wagyu, adding a luxurious finish.
Jerry, the sushi chef, demonstrated true culinary artistry. His work easily ranks as the best sushi experience I’ve had in the area. While my visit on a Wednesday evening was quiet, it seems the restaurant is a popular spot, especially on Fridays, so reservations might be advisable for weekend dining.
Thank you, Amai Sushi, for a fantastic meal. Looking forward to returning soon and highly recommend it to anyone looking for an exceptional sushi experience...
Read moreI have been going here since they opened but I don't think I'll be going back. In spite of the food being expensive, I have always supported their business. I recently visited and there were two seats at the bar and two in the dining area. I was told the two at the bar were reserved and to sit in the dining area. I got seated, ordered my appetizer and drink and was served what I ordered. One bite into my food, the owner asks me to move to the bar because MY current seat is now reserved. I pick up my food and drink and move to a makeshift seat at the bar. I am very uncomfortable because my knee is hitting the cabinet as this is not intended to be a seat. The person who is now going to take my table apologizes profusely. The owner also apologizes but this is horrible service at this point. I then wait and wait and my main dish never arrives. I get up pay for my appetizer and drink and leave. In all my years, I think this is the worse I have been treated at a restaurant. I...
