Tomo 202, a brand-new gem in Danbury, Connecticut, welcomes diners with a sophisticated yet cozy atmosphere. The modern decor, warm lighting, and sleek design create an upscale vibe, perfect for special occasions or casual nights out. The service is outstanding—attentive, warm, and well-versed in the menu, elevating the entire experience.

The menu impresses with its variety of Japanese dishes at reasonable prices. The Brookfield roll was a highlight, bursting with fresh flavors and expertly crafted. The softshell crab appetizer was another standout—perfectly cooked, crispy yet tender, and packed with delicate, delicious flavor that left us wanting more. The sashimi platter delivered generous, fresh slices, showcasing the restaurant’s commitment to quality. However, the bluefin Toro tuna, at $10 for a single slice, felt overpriced for the portion. The ceviche also fell short, lacking the bold, sour punch expected, with a small amount of bland fish that didn’t justify its cost.

Despite these hiccups, nearly everything else was exceptional, from the sushi to other inventive dishes. The stellar service and captivating ambience make Tomo 202 a place we’d happily revisit. This promising newcomer has a few minor tweaks to make, particularly with certain premium items, but the overall quality, highlighted by dishes like the softshell crab and Brookfield roll, makes it a must-try for sushi...

First time trying soup dumplings was a success. Tomo is located at the four corners in Brookfield. There is street parking on both sides, depending which direction you are coming from. There may be a lot in the back but not sure if it’s just for residential parking. It is a clean new building with tables, booths, and a sushi bar you can sit at. It’s a welcoming environment where you are greeted with smiles when you enter. All of the staff I dealt with were friendly and helpful. Our waiter instructed me on the technique of how to eat the soup dumplings. He specifically said don’t try to eat in one bite, you will burn your mouth.

The food is great. We got a few different things. The soup dumplings had lots of flavor. We got Pork and Blue Crab & Pork. Both were great. We also got regular Pork and Chive Dumplings which were very juicy. My absolute favorite was the Baconator Roll. I’ve never had bacon on a sushi roll so I was curious to try. It consisted of shrimp tempura, cream cheese, avocado, spicy kani, yum yum sauce, and of course bacon. It was amazing and I will definitely order it when I go back. Definitely stop in here. You will...

We were excited to try Tomo 202 as we had heard good things. The restaurant itself is very nice and in a good location with ample parking. The food unfortunately was just average. We did not have any sushi so that might be better. But we did have tempura, hibachi fried rice, the drunken noodles, and pork soup dumplings (which i forgot to get a pic of). Everything was very simple flavor wise. They brought out the apps with the mains and forgot the soup dumplings. My biggest complaint however is the service. My mom has a serious mushroom allergy and we asked if the dumplings or gyoza had mushrooms. Our server said she would have to check and that the dumplings and gyoza are not made there that they just order them. She did not check but just told us they “probably don’t”. With a serious allergy “probably” is not...
