If you haven’t tried Confab yet, go - and if you visited in the first couple months when the food had mixed reviews, give it another shot. They’ve seriously leveled up!
Confab is one of Brookhaven’s newest spots, and the name really fits — it’s perfect for catching up. The space is versatile: big turf area for kids, TVs for game nights (they’ve added outdoor screens and Sunday Ticket), and a clean, modern design that works for date night, girls’ night, or a casual hang with friends. The new outdoor TVs at the bar are a game changer, and Sunday Ticket for football fans is a great touch.
Confab continues to impress with concept, service, and ambiance - it’s easily one of the best spots in the neighborhood on those fronts. The only area of opportunity is kitchen ops & execution of dishes at times…
Service & Ambiance: Jessica, our server, was a standout — attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely pleasant. The atmosphere continues to impress and is easily the best in the neighborhood for mixed casual/finer/kid friendly option .
Food: • Tuna tostadas: Loved these! Well-balanced, quality tuna, maybe slightly heavy on the mayo. Two chips were a touch stale, but still fantastic. • Grouper bites: Perfect, nostalgic Florida vibes. • Steak tartare: Delicious; handmade potato chips were excellent. • Octopus: Slightly gummy outside this visit; would shine with a quick char or crisp finish. Sauce still tasty. • Broccolini: Absolutely craveable — perfectly charred with a crunchy topping. Romanesco sauce is a winner! • Grouper: Subbed grits for root veggies due to dairy allergy. Initially undercooked but kitchen quickly corrected it. Excited to try it with the artichoke/puttanesca prep next time. • Lobster roll: Very good, surprisingly enjoyable cold. Bun size perfect, claws legit. Subbed fries for asparagus. • Asparagus: Really good, nice grilled flavor. • braised beef sandwich: excellent — crisp exterior, flavorful, perfectly cooked. Fries might be some of the best in Atlanta. • Octopus app (previous visit): Cooked beautifully on a smoky roasted red pepper purée with onions, peppers, frisée, cannellini beans, and crispy chorizo — a standout dish. • Duck wings: Must-try; great spice, tender meat. • Dessert: The ice cream sandwich is next-level — chocolate chip, snickerdoodle, and white chocolate cookies hugging Oreo ice cream.
Drinks: Chablis is excellent, Pinot Gris lovely, and the IPAs my husband tried were solid. New “for Spritz & Giggles” menu is fun. Frozen espresso martini is excellent
Overall: Confab continues to impress with concept, service, and ambiance. Kitchen execution still has small areas to refine, but nothing that keeps you from enjoying a fantastic meal. We’ll definitely be back — excited for brunch, lunch, and trying the rest of the...
Read moreService was great, nice atmosphere. I ordered the Pan Seared Grouper with Shrimp Putanseca, Everything was very good....seperately. The only drawback was that the tomato sauce overpowered the grouper. I would have preferred the grouper & grits separate from the Shrimp Putanseca. Next time, I will order it that way. Overall, a good experience. I will go back. SideNote: This was my 1st first visit & the restaurant difficult to find once parked in the garage. I didn't know the restaurant was outside of the garage (around the corner). I thought it was in the same building...I called and hostess, Fransine answered the phone and gave me directions. She was very friendly & helpful. May want to clarify on your website. Owner, Doug stopped by to check on us and was very helpful. Edit to add: Hubby & I went back the next Tuesday for the Confab Burger special (8oz - $10) - it was just the right size...
Read moreFound this place while walking home from the Brookhaven Farmer's market that was decorated for Halloween with a Harry Potter theme so decided to check it out. Sat outside on a beautiful fall day. Fiancée ordered the confab brunch plate and I the braised beef sandwich. They perfected the over easy eggs and onions in the brunch potatoes. My braised beef had fresh pickled veggies and french fries the way I prefer - crispy with a touch of salt. Price was very reasonable for what we ordered, just a little steep on a gin and tonic that was $12.50. Owner and manager definitely know how to run the place- seems they are conscious of excessive food waste- I love that. Our server was attentive for us being the only ones sitting outside.
Would go again and sit at the outside bar! Loved they had the college games on...
